Chill my friend!!!!By now many of you have woken up to seeing your estimated delivery dates jump three months (in the wrong direction). Such a large estimating mistake, or logistics mistake, far exceeds last year's "chip hold" delay which prompted the extra free 250kw from Ford.
To help draw attention to this disaster, I propose referencing it in this and other forums as the Friday Night Massacre ("FNM"). This will facilitate cover in the trade publications, as in "... described in social media as the Friday Night Massacre, the massive disruption of ..."
Right?!? I just assumed everyone’s tracker looked that color for the black onyx, is that not the case LOL. You seriously made me laugh in all this matter. Thank you! That is an interesting shade of Black Onyx...
I was in this same group. June date moved to 10/31, but as the days progressed, kept slowly moving up and arrived at the end of August. Yes, it was a bit delayed, but I remember everyone freaking out at the 10/31 date. Hopefully this is the same issue with this group that Ford picked this one far out date for so many orders. Good luck! Many of us here had delivery dates in July 2021 that suddenly got pushed back to 10/31/21. I have to admit I started freaking out and began looking at my second choice again (GV80) and getting a Mach-E off a dealer lot that was not configured the way I wanted it. But just in time Ford moved the date to 9/7/21 and I figured I could live with that. My MME arrived 8/24/21.
This post is shameful given the state of the supply chain. I work in this space and these things are not as easy to predict as one might think. You only need one link in the chain to break and the whole thing falls apart. Welcome to the weakness of JIT manufacturing and supply chain methodologies.By now many of you have woken up to seeing your estimated delivery dates jump three months (in the wrong direction). I hope the supply chain issues and wait times will not be the new normal, but I'm afraid that it is. This applies to everything, and just not cars. Have you guys tried buying a Video card in the last year? Yikes... At least Ford is not doubling the MSRP.This post is shameful given the state of the supply chain. This reminds me of a Karen running around Wal-Mart threatening to call the cops be cause she can’t what she wants on Black Friday. It would be very silly for the media to take this seriously sadly they love the juvenile sensationalism you are proposing.
Are you going to be just as sensational when at some point Ford is able to bring in dates? Sit down and have a glass of “be a responsible adult”.
Premium AWD Ext, but mine is a 21. Are most of us 21’s or 22’s?For those with delays, which Mach E and options did you order? Wondering if there's a common component that is short.
I think that an unfair comment. For most people the issues go beyond the delays. Everyone understands the supply chain problems. What bothers folks is Ford’s lack of communication; offering no explanations which is reflected in their often useless websites. Dealing with Ford is infuriating. This post is shameful given the state of the supply chain. I work in this space and these things are not as easy to predict as one might think. I have a 21 (RWD premium Ext) now expected to be delivered in April 2022 best casePremium AWD Ext, but mine is a 21. Are most of us 21’s or 22’s?
It's only infuriating for those that had some belief that Ford is Amazon...I think that an unfair comment. For most people the issues go beyond the delays. I don't see how Ford should be obligated to give an explanation about every delay to every one of their customers that's ordered a vehicle from them. That would take forever and change daily. Seems like a lot of people who are on a chip hold or delay is expecting a personalized letter from Ford with an explanation. I think every MME order (which was probably placed during the pandemic) had an estimate at some point of 12+ to 16+ weeks. They added a "+" on the number because delays happen. I think a quick Google search can tell us Ford is dealing with the supply issues but damn they'll try their hardest to make as many vehicles as possible because that's money in their pockets. I understand people get impatient for a big purchase but we'll all get our cars eventually. Things that take longer to get are sometimes the best things to receive.I think that an unfair comment. If only there were some sort of technology, that could perform all of these tasks automatically...I don't see how Ford should be obligated to give an explanation about every delay to every one of their customers that's ordered a vehicle from them.
