I agree with your observations about the technology, patience, and tinkering...I have been in the software business since 1977...nuff said.
However, my PAAK problem is a little different than most reported in this and other forums, at least I have not come across them. My PAAK problem is that I have never been able to successfully complete the pairing process and generate the back-up code. I picked up my Premium AWD ER Mach E on July 27, 2021 and me and my salesperson tried to link my Mach E to my Google Pixel 4a (5G) with no luck. We then spent another 2 hours on the phone with a Ford Pass Guide and tried a lot of things all to no avail.
Aside: Except for the first "guide" I spoke with, the FORD Pass folks have been useless. Waited several hours for a scheduled call back the next day; I had to call them. They didn't want to help me because the first guide had "Tried everything." They Escalated to Engineering and would get back to me in 3 to 5 business days. Again, no call; I called them on business day 6. Again no help but now my problem has risen from Escalated to Expedited...please wait another 1 to 3 business days. 8/9/2021 will be the 3rd business day...I am not holding my breath waiting for their call.
Apologies for the diatribe. In the meantime, I have my Mach E home, and I have been tinkering...making sure it and my phone are both connected to my home WiFi network (tried both my 2G and 5G networks), my phone is Bluetooth connected to my car, etc. I can get to the point to set up my back up starting code and I get "Device Not Found".
Do you have any other tinkering ideas I can try?
Has anyone else had a similar problem and been able to resolve?
I have seen other reports from Pixel owners having difficulty.
