Thoughts on mobile detailing

I have a brand new 23 GT Rapid Red and I want to keep is pretty. I’ve had been considering PPF but honestly I’m on the fence. I’ve had quotes from $2K to $12K not sure I want to dump that much cash. I am also considering ceramic wrap. I’ve had quotes from $450 (Groupon) all the way to $2000 with a 1 year warranty. The Groupon is a mobile service and being I live in Seattle would our cold damn weather really going to seal or so whatever it does do? I was also just thinking of getting a good exterior detail wax every few months about $100 +/- . I’ll not be going thru car washes but the pay and spray type. Any suggestions on how to keep it pretty without breaking the bank?

I got a 4 year ceramic coating.

Then I take it to a hand wash car wash about once a month or whenever it gets dirty enough.

Car always looks nice!

For half that $12k quote you could have it repainted when and if the paint gets so bad it's warranted.

I got all my work done for under 4K

10” racing stripes
4 years ceramic coating
Tint on all the glass in the car. Glass roof, front windshield, everything.

I went to an auto detailing shop.

I got a PPF “highway” package that covers the hood and front part of the car for $1500. Definitely think it was worth it to prevent chips from rocks and road debris. I also applied a coating myself. I don’t think the professionally applied ceramic is worth the $3K and up I was quoted. Ceramic does nothing to prevent rock chips and other damage to paint.

PPF like the last member mentioned. 21 months and zero chips. I also PPF-ed the wheel well plastic trim, side mirrors, and b-pillar. I hand wash every two weeks and apply a spray wax to keep it looking new. Additionally, I always go with silver cause I hate swirl marks and don’t want to baby the vehicle (beyond what I’m doing).

I went through same process as you just about a month ago. Got quotes for PPF and ceramic. Was thinking I would do one or the other but ended up doing neither. PPF is just too expensive even if it saves me some paint chips. I will likely get a chip repair kit when needed. Ceramic does not offer the protection I was looking for. My plan now is a good wash and wax when needed and I may try a DIY PPF option for front grill and/or half hood.

When you have your car ceramic coated professionally, the big expense is really the prep work beforehand
