Ahoy! Trying to figure out how screwed I am (which is to say, very screwed, I believe).

My condo building erroneously towed and then returned, via tow, my 2022 Premium. I wasn't there so couldn't put it into Emergency Tow mode or advise on tow hitch points. I was parked nose-in and the car was returned the opposite way so I'm betting I was lucky enough to have them tow it from both ends.

I'm now getting...well a spooky (Happy Halloween!) amount of errors and can't steer without using a ton of force. I could barely get it to my parking spot two cars down. The errors are:
-Hill Start Assist not available
-Pre-Collision Assist not available
-Pedestrian Sounder Fault, Service Now
-Service AdvanceTrac
-Park Break Fault, Service Now
-Battery Light On

Based on everything I've read, I'm fucked. Any hope for my lil pony?

1. Have towed by complimentary Ford roadside to nearest dealer.

2. Have them perform full diagnosis and estimate.

3. Present to your condo board and towing company. Condo shouldn’t have towed. Towing company shouldn’t have damaged.

4. Presumably you have comprehensive insurance policy so unless condo/tow company immediate admits liability, put in a claim on your insurance and they will subrogate (go after) your board and the tow company.

5. You presumably have your condo documents with their insurance information which you should provide to your auto insurance company. Also provide as many details on towing company as you can.

6. Damage can be anywhere from some sensors needing resetting to drive train being…kaput. Sorry you have to deal with. Be very proactive on this.

Ouch. Hopefully your condo already knows and accepts responsibility for any damage caused by towing it?
They're blaming the tow company but I'm going with @orangethunder's recommendation and having Progressive fight that fight! :) So, so silly!

Do you know why you were towed? I hate tow companies with a passion, they can legally steal your car and don't have to worry about paying for anything if they damage it.

a paperwork fuck up, apparently. i'm on a secondary list (owners who had to get a second spot) and they towed a bunch of us! apparently i wasn't the first to call to complain but i am the first to have an issue.

Late last year I parked somewhere I shouldn't have and came out to find my car gone. When I picked it up from the towing yard I initially had tons of warnings and lights. They all went away after about a mile of driving. The towing company said they see it fairly regularly on newer vehicles. YMMV.

my hopes! they have lifted! ooooooooo! i'm tempted to just try to drive it a little more to see if it just figures itself out...did your alerts look like mine with a sad, pathetic, helpless dinging?

I don't recall exactly which alerts I had. There were a lot of them. Lots of dinging as well.

Oh yeah, definitely make someone pay for it, the damage done could be in lawsuit territory. If you go through your insurance your rate may go up as well, all through nothing that was your fault.

Consult with a lawyer regardless of compensation of damages seeking punitive damages for being dick heads. I'd put it v. everyone including individuals in the office and the related companies involved in any part of it. Your vehicle was stolen and there are many accomplices to the crime / consult local DA about possible charges (increase value of your damages case by letting them go). Ooopsie isn't a legal defense.

Do not let them try to put it off on the towing company and have you pursue it there. The commercial relationship is between you and the condo building. They need to cover the expense period and it sounds like they were the root cause of the incorrect tows to begin with. It is up to them to go after the towing company not you. If they cannot get recovery from the towing company that is their issue not yours. They still fully owe you for any repairs needed regardless of what the towing company pays them. Definitely lean on your insurance company if needed to help sort it out and if needed get an attorney.

I would also look for any camera footage that might have been captured during the tow event so you know how the car was towed.
