Has anyone had a problem using a transponder at a toll booth? Since I bought my Mache, I've gone thru a toll booth twice and it did not register either time. Live in Maryland and contacted ezpass and they said a heavily tinted windshild could hinder it. Got a bill about 11 months after the fact. They offered to sell me a transponder to mount on the license plate to solve the problem.

Yes. I had the same issue. The glass on the car interferes with the radio signal from the transponder. I had to switch to a plate mounted transponder.

Because of the Infrared Reflecting Windshield, you have to put toll transponders and radar detectors in the upper part in the dot matrix area.

Put it behind the Sync Screen about a few inches on the dash! My dealer told about this.

I put mine in the same place I think: on the dash behind the screen where the dash dips down. It works fine for me there. It tends to slide around so it is not a permanent spot, but for me that is fine because I don't do a lot of toll roads and I don't want to mount it to the windshield anyway.

I changed to the tag transponder and has had zero issues. Might be worth looking into.

Thanks, I ordered one. Not sure when I'll get it though.

I leave mine in the Mylar bag in the center console because the tolls here just read license plates even with the transponder so makes no difference.

I believe there are metal particles in the glass that enhance the acoustic dampening qualities. Unfortunately, the metal also interferes with transponders.

There is a dotted area on both sides of the rear-view mirror. Put the transponder there. That part of the window will allow signals to pass through easier.

Oh yeah I don't stick mine on. I only put it there when I cross a tollgate.
