Transportation Company Cracked Sunroof

The transportion company is handling but i might give my insurance a call just to be safe.

That's great the transportation company is owning up to it. I wouldn't bother contacting the insurance company, though.

In the case of the brand new vehicles with metal roofs that I mentioned seeing it happen to in my prior comment, the dealer in question had a body shop repair them inexpensively enough that I don't believe it was ever disclosed to the purchaser. In the state in which it happened, they were only legally required to disclose prior damage if it exceeded a certain amount. I wouldn't like it if that were my car, but it happens far more often than you think.

Worked at dealers for almost 20 years. I only saw 1 vehicle come in with roof damage. The body shop guy told me it was not repairable and the brand new car was totaled. ??
Regarding any work done to a car before you buy it, if you don't ask there's a good chance you'll never know.

This seems to be a private transportation company OP used to move his Mach-E between cities after he purchased it, not Ford delivering the vehicle to the dealership.

Glass roof & front windshield was supposed to have been shipped on 06/30 from Ford factory delayed & they don't know when it will ship.

My roof stress cracked. Warranty will cover it according to the service manager. It's been 2 weeks and they still don't have a date from Ford on the replacement.

Made Twitter post on 7/9/21 & tagged Ford in post about parts not shipped & updated. Ford reached out to me 07/12 in post & told me to dm then with vehicle vin#. Will let you what's next.

Here is what I received from Ford today:

I am your Customer Experience Specialist, that you spoke with last week. I wanted to update you that I spoke with the service advisor and he advised me the reason the roof has not arrived because it is on a national back order. The last expected release date was 6/30 but it was pushed back and they do not the new estimated release date at this time. I do apologize for the inconvenience and will stay in contact with the dealership and advise you of any new updates.

Ford representative called me today to let me know glass roof is off back order & has been shipped to dealership it should arrive this week.
