Trip-planner / preconditioning & charging

So I think I know the answer, but kinda hoping someone will tell me otherwise.

Going on a trip on Monday with low temperatures expected. Will putting the itinerary into the trip planner do either of these things:
- charge the battery to 100% before I depart
- precondition the battery to have it ready to go at that time?


Again, i'm pretty sure I know the answer. If I'm right, this would be an excellent (if not obvious) feature for @Ford Motor Company to add.

You don't put any times into the trip planner so how would it know when you're going to leave?

You can, however, setup the car to precondition itself and be ready at the prescribed time--that feature is in there. Its just separate from the trip planner.

In addition, there is a "charge to 100%" button in Ford Pass so yeah that feature is in there but not automatically linked to the trip planner software.

Actually, you CAN put the departure date and time into the trip planner:

so I figured it was worth a shot. Would be nice if it were integrated instead of having to do a one-off departure time and charge to 100%

Ah yeah just played with that in Ford Pass but alas it doesn't trigger anything in the car that I know of.

Not at this point anyway...

Set a departure time. Then, after you leave, remember to go in and delete it or it will repeat next week.

Hit "charge to 100%" and you'll be all set for departure.

If in the morning you're running late, simply hit Start on the app to remote start and get it warm for your departure.

Appreciating this post was some time ago, it is the most recent I found mentioning the “Leave” time in the trip planner. Anyone know with all the enhancements that have been done what this impacts when changed? I thought it might adjust for a weather forecast, but didn’t seem to when I changed dates with significant temp drops. Thanks!

When I plan for stuff like this, I always use the built-in car Synch and not FordPass. It works... and I don't have to depend on the every-changing nuances of function connectivity between the FordPass app and the car itself.
