You most likely just haven't gotten the OTA yet that changes the behavior.
I’m pretty sure I’m up-to-date on OTAs (shocking, I know, unless ford has started OTAs again and is back to giving me rocks. Which OTA enabled this behavior?)

I did mine in FDRS, I do t think the OTA is released yet. Part of the BC1.3 fiasco.

Is this the same as turning BC off in the settings (the "Lane Centering with Hands Free" toggle)?
IF you have BC1.0 or 1.1 yes. If you have BC1.3 no. BC1.3 forces the eye nanny active even when in hands-on mode. This basically tells the car you have trim level with no eye nanny, so it doesn't check.

Are you freaking serious?! My car updated to BC 1.3 AND I usually have the toggle off. I knew the nannies at Ford were going to do this to me.

So what, I have to hit up the FDRS thread now? Just what I need, another project... wife is gonna kill me.

Quick @SonicBlue! Wag your finger at me and maybe I'll change my mind.

Just forscan, a much lower entry threshold than FDRS.

Disable Nanny Camera, Disable Hands Free, Enable Hands-On LCA:

A bit of a thread necro here, but I'm curious about Bluecruise behavior after this change in FORscan. Does this disable Bluecruise all-together, or can I still use Bluecruise intermittently? Hopefully this only applies to/fixes behavior in adaptive cruise and lane-keep (hands-on assists). FYI I bought my car used and haven't paid for BC before, but might buy a month here and there for road trips. Thanks.

No, this kills BlueCruise completely. it tells the car you don't have a driver monitor camera.

Dang. Thanks. What happens if there is an update while the car thinks there is no camera but is reenabled later? It’s not a huge challenge to enable the camera say a couple of days before a trip.

OTAs will continue as normal. Sometimes they will turn it back on depending how much the strategy changes.
