Yeah I don’t think the change was needed, but I guess people feel very strongly about turning their AC on or off. Personally I’ve never touched the button. Auto 365. The thing that bothers me about the AC Being moved out is now the buttons are asymmetrical. The e heat button (one I actually do toggle) should have been brought out to balance out the AC. maybe do the AC and E heat on the right and the Auto and Vent controls on the left.

Or the Dual toggle. My wife gets in the car, cranks the passengers side down to chilly, then I drive alone and have to go turn off dual climate control again.

Ok I know I’m nit picking here, but the Mach-E has such a clean cohesive UI, or at least it used to, until they committed this Sin of iconography.

First, why does it have a drop shadow when none of the other climate icons do?
Second, why is it so bold and thick when every other icon in the UI is thin and light?

Ford UI designers you are asleep at the wheel!

I haven’t tried this on the Mach E, but I know on my last 2 Fords holding Auto would put it back to normal.

Also, the person icon shouldn’t have been filled in. All other icons in the UI (for example, seats and fans) are outlines. Filling in the person icon makes it look like the icon is “yelling” at you. Very discordant.

Yes! That’s why it seems so bold! I couldn’t put my finger on why it looked different.

Frunk button in FordPass is worse: the wheels are hemispheres, the car looks like a Prius, and the trunk is inaccurately curved.

But I'm glad I have it.

I would be glad to have a poorly-drawn frunk button, even if it had a drop-shadow coming from an inconsistent angle! Even if it was labeled using comic sans!

I couldn’t care less about the icon change, it’s all the other stuff crammed into the bottom of the screen that annoys me. It used to be a clean interface, no longer.

I'm asking what else changed. The only thing they added was the A/C button, right?

You’re probably right. It’s close, but not perfect.

The primary change was the addition of an AC button allowing you to activate the ac or turn it off. Or do either accidentally. It “unbalances” the area, there’s no corresponding “e-heat” button on the opposite side. Many people like it though.

The real question is what any of this will look like when the UI overhaul is rolled out. There’s no real sense getting upset about such things when they’re all in flux anyway

The flux capacitor is pretty much useless without a Mr. Fusion. Hopefully the Ford engineers are aware of this reality.
