I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure that this is nothing more than a UI bug. Connected navigation, the Ford Pass app, and blue Cruise hands free are all considered to be connected services. At least on my car when the connected services menu isn't loading all of those things continue to work normally, indicating that connected services is in fact on and working.
Interesting, I hadn't considered that possibility. Makes a lot of sense.

I've got the same issue as well, Connected Services will stop working for a couple of days and then magically start working again. I didn't notice exactly when it started but it was probably around when I got 5.1.1 in mid-August. When it stops working, the vehicle connected icon at the top of the main screen disappears and the Connected Services list won't populate. Interestingly, traffic continues to work in Navigation so that must be a different connection.

I've tried restarting the car on a few occasions to see if the connection would reappear but it hasn't, when it does come back, it's always been after sitting overnight. I got the 6.1.0 update on October 1 and I'd say the car has had no connection about 50% of the time since then. I'm glad to hear that this is happening to others, I was thinking that the car's modem might have been on its way out.
Ford does know about this.

Before I realized this was happening to others, I had wondered if there was a problem with the module in the car (more than just software) and I reached out to my contacts at Ford to see if they advised taking it in for service. Then I learned that others were having the same issue.

The advice was to sit tight for the time being. I don't have any insight on when a resolution might be available.

If you haven't got your regular paycheck yet at your regular time, is it Stuck or just hasn't come to you at its regular time yet? Stuck implies there's something wrong with cars that haven't received it, end of story, there's nothing wrong and this thread just makes people think there's something wrong and some dodos will take it to a dealership and waste their time.

It seems like there is someone with behind the scenes knowledge who confirmed that the 2021 cars are not yet able to get 6.2.0, and that it's explicitly on hold for those cars. Meanwhile, lots of 2022 and 2023 cars, mine included, just haven't been offered it because our wave has not come yet. I cannot confirm this, since I don't know anyone who works at Ford or otherwise has insider knowledge, but I don't see a point in arguing with those who know someone but aren't naming them. It doesn't really matter. I will just keep driving my car and checking when I get home to see if anything is downloading.
Not to be pedantic, (well, ok, to be pedantic 😀), but there is a difference between “not yet able to get”, and “not yet available for” 🙂 I believe the correct phrase is “not yet available for (MY21s)” 🙂

Hopefully putting some pressure on them to fix, rather than sweep under the rug and hope nobody notices until a later date
Errors in software are common. Sometimes those errors get discovered very late. Do you honestly believe Ford would sweep the hold on 6.2+ under the rug? Hide it from over 25,000 owners or ignore a delay to their signature BlueCruise product? Unlikely, to say the least. Money alone dictates there’s no sweeping under the rug. There are upcoming subscriptions at stake. Lots of it (even at the $600 level). Money talks.

Don’t get me wrong @mpshizzle, I don’t object to the title or the thread. The thread does an excellent job of consolidating the discussion and centralizes the location of all the posts informing 2021 owners that they are not, in fact, missing anything. Stuck in the use here is miswording and leaves the wrong impression with some. There’s nothing mechanically wrong with our cars. There’s probably very little wrong software wise either — given the constraints of the current architecture. We just aren’t getting the latest updates yet.

Arguing about “stuck” is simply semantics and actually is one of the more intelligent arguments here. ;)

Now if this hold continues into the New Year without resolution becoming another job 1 frunk trope, you’re hereby authorized to bandy about the soon™ trope at will.

100% valid point. Totally agree. Follow the money - always.

And hey it is the Internet, we can't not argue! "No squabble to small" 🤣

Hopefully, Ford is using a "ring" deployment concept, with the assumption that 2021 Job 1s fall towards the end, with a few in EA getting it earlier:

Progressively expose your releases using deployment rings - Azure DevOps | Microsoft Learn

Even with that type of approach, you're going to have your edge cases of certain vehicles with certain modules in certain conditions that prevent updates from moving along. I would assume they're tracking those as well (e.g. a list of cars + modules on what versions) and will eventually provide guidance or OTA fixes for those as well.

Software updates are hard, even in highly controlled environments. We've learned there was not a solid underpinning architecture to how the MME's modules work and talk to one another. That, in addition to having to rely on mobile and WiFi networks, and whatever retrograde state the planet of Mercury is in - the fact that we're this far and seeing some general coalescence is a good thing.

Someday, it'll update as easy as an app on Apple's AppStore or Google Play. It might not be for this generation, but it's much better than it was even a few months ago.

FWIW, Job 1, running 6.1.0.

My last Powerup was 4.26, followed by 23-PU0110-RAD-PS.
That was in August.
2021 Job 2. I've had a GWM showing since before August.
Not sure why I'm so far behind.

There's been enough chatter scattered throughout other threads on this, I figured we might as well have a dedicated thread to discuss it. I always appreciate having a thread I know I can go to for updates and news on a specific issue.

As far as I can tell it's specifically 2021 Job 1 vehicles that have started the BC update process, but stopped at 6.1.0. Is there anyone else in the affected group? Or is this pretty much it? Curious who else is in this boat

I'm hoping that we get caught up fast enough to have time to evaluate 1.3 before our BC trial is up.
I just got 6.1.0 today. I am a 2021 Job1

I am in the same boat right now. I just figured it was going to take awhile to get all the updates.
