So, I have my Mach e plugged into a juicebox 40amp level 2 charger. My utility company gives me a discount if I charge between 11PM and 6AM and that is how I setup charging period in my car.

I cannot get the car to precondition at 8AM. It just does not come on. I've tried several other times during the day to test it and no good. So my first thought is maybe I have to have active charging going on during the same time as I want to precondition? Another words if I want to leave at 8AM even though my car is fully charged do I need a second period setup, say 7AM to 9AM for the preconditioning to work? I don't know what else to try. Thanks

You may be experiencing the same issue as my car. Departure times are hit and miss. If the car happens to be awake enough then the departure time functions as expected. If the car is asleep then it doesn't always wake up to condition the cabin.

Try this. When you wake up and are getting ready for work, check FordPass to see state of charge or really any info at all. If FP is blank.....just showing dashes for range estimate and state of charge or shows info from many hours ago then refresh by swiping down at the home screen. If you see a banner notification towards the bottom that says Preparing for Drive then Departure Time Preconditioning has begun.

Thanks, doing research some are saying that charge times have to be set so that your preconditioning time is within those limits. I keep it at 11PM to 6AM as that is when I get a discount but if I start at 11PM and end much later say 2PM the next day my car will be fully charged before 6 but will be available for shore powered preconditioning at say 8AM so I will try that. And I will also try what you suggested.

We have so many cars behaving differently it is hard to say for sure. That could be true. My time of use plan ends at 5 am but I set the car to charge up to 8 am because I wanted to make sure the car didn't start charging when I get home after work.

I will set my schedule to end at 5 am and see if the departure time works in the morning. Although.....Mondays are usually the hit or miss days. Let's see what happens.....

I’ll try that as well but I think I already did.

Precondition occurred outside the charge schedule. I did not have the option turned on to allow departure times off plug.

Interestingly it says Precondition cabin in Process when looking at FordPass. I guess "Preparing for Drive" is another message and might mean the battery is being conditioned separate from the cabin?

Hmm, well that blows my theory out of the water. I don't know what the problem is though. How far outside the window were you?

About 2 hours. I set the schedule 11pm to 5am for weekdays. So, assuming the car knows today is Monday then it was outside the schedule when the departure time started.

I checked FordPass this morning around 7:00 am and that might have awoken the car. I never really know if the car is asleep or not to be honest. Sometimes I wake up and don't check FordPass and just get ready for work, then if I walk out to my car a few minutes before my departure time and as I get close I can hear the car wake up and then the conditioning starts. So on those days it wasn't awake so no pre-conditioning happens. I got tired of random pre-conditioning for departure times that I have gotten used to checking FP each morning as a back up. Not something that we should have to do....but it's my little work around I guess.

We have several work around steps for various things. There is one to allow the car to cool the battery while parked on plug WITHOUT also charging the car (which also requires the car to be awake it appears). There is a work around to quickly switch back to my own profile after remote starting. There is a work around to avoid charging outside the schedule. etc etc.

Thanks for reply, I just realized that I had charge times set in the car and also on the JuiceBox App. That may have caused the problem, not sure (both had same charge times). I turned off the settings on the JuiceBox now and I’ll see what happens. I just haven’t found the time to investigate yet. Thanks for your help
