I'm not really surprised that Ford doesn't show it, they chose to hide a lot of helpful info from drivers to make this EV as close to an ICE as possible to make the transition to EVs easier (at least this is how I understand Ford's design decisions). But what is surprising to me is that CarScanner doesn't pick up the fact that the brake lights are on (or, more likely, that ODBII doesn't provide this information to it). I would be OK to see it there along with 12V battery state level, KWh of the HVB and other information that I care about

Funny, my Unbridle anxiety is the opposite. I worry that my brake lights are on too much of the time.

Now that Ford has moved the car to the center of the IPC screen, maybe they can make that useless static image a little more useful by illuminating the brake lights in the image when they're on in real life. I'd appreciate knowing when my car is automatically turning them on.
I believe they would then have to differentiate between the brake lights and rear marker lights?

They could choose to simply make the existing small red lights in the image a little bigger/brighter while brake lights are on. It would be a subtle change, but would provide useful information.

During a recent short run, I was followed by a friend. Upon reaching our destination, she commented that my brake lights were not working properly. I immediately realized she was referring to the deceleration under throttle lift associated with driving in unbridled mode. I guess she deemed the slowdown aggressive enough to warrant a brake light signal. I wonder if this is something that could be addressed in an update, or if it would require a much more complicated intervention to accomplish.

Anyhow, my takeaway from this was that in heavy traffic, I switch out of unbridled mode to avoid upsetting the car behind me.
This is not attributed to unbridled mode. This is associated with 1 pedal drive, and dynamic cruise control. Basically, any mode where the car is deciding when/how to brake. If cruise control is off, and 1 pedal drive are off, the slowing down is just friction during coasting… in that case, don’t coast to stop.

First, we don’t need to ever know when the car is braking. That is not only useless information, but distracting to the driver. Anything flashing on the IP in your face better mean you need to react to immediately. Otherwise it would be very dangerous. That’s why some of us are bothered by the amber ice icon that comes on and stays on 6 months out of the year in the Midwest and Canada.

Second, the Mach-E is very aggressive in applying brake lights compared to other vehicles. The driver behind us might get upset by the frequency of applying the brake light, not the infrequency of it. I think Ford should take another look and see if there’s a reason to make a change and improve the way brake lights operate.

Third, it really is someone else’s problem. I’m not bothered by someone having an opinion about my brake lights. I’m in unbridled 1pd 100% of the time, cause it’s electric baby.

Its the most regen I can get without using the brake pedal.

"One Pedal" is not safe in my situation because Multiple people in my family drive this car. And heck, I don't even like it myself. It's just not natural IMO.
So, I won't argue the merits of using or not using one-pedal, but were you aware that if multiple people drive the car that the one-pedal setting can be set in their profiles? My teen daughter used to drive my Mach-E and she didn't want one-pedal and on her profile we had it disabled. OTOH, I love it myself so it's active on mine.

Yes, well aware of profiles. Well aware my family is annoyed by it!!!

The main reason I believe is that it should change by specially assign remote, which I've also done, but its been very inconsistent and unreliable. I've entered the car with my own remote, having my own profile, neither used by any one else and watched nothing change! It's 50/50.

Speaking of, I sure wish "L" mode could be turned on permanently within said settings!

Nice! Just don't get rid of that Windows 3.1 era shadowboxing of the battery percentage! :giggle:
That shit needs some work too. Maybe some chevrons instead.
There a thread somewhere that someone with shit load more skill did some mock ups. I’ll try to find it.

Ok. So let's make it an optional feature. Many of us would consider it quite useful and not distracting at all, so the "we" in your first paragraph is really more about "you".

One-pedal makes me car sick. So does Unbridle mode. I don't use them as a result.
