Comparing to other BEVs is one absolutely legitimate way to look at this.

Comparing to other Mustangs is another, completely legitimate way to look at it, though. This page has 11 colors including the gorgeous dark blue I love (Kona Blue on the Shelby GT350). Looks like when I go into the configurator, the EcoBoost has 13 colors total:

In the big picture this is not the end of the world or anything, but it's still a legitimate criticism of the Mach-E, in my opinion.

Listen I know I gripe a lot about the terrible Lease and Option programs...but if Twister Orange was available for the MME I would have sold my kidney to pay for the car by now! LOL

I know I'm beating a dead pony...but what is wrong with this picture? I think someone should have traded at least 2 of the options for more colorful ones. Do we need 2 'white'? To me, the Carbonized Gray and Infinite Blue could have been just one...flip a coin.

I like infinite blue a lot compared to most other auto blues, maybe make it like 5% bluer.

I (and my wife) would have loved to see Ice Storm #2 that she had on her 2013 FFE. She originally ordered Ginger Ale but a few days after we placed the order we were informed that Ginger Ale had been "Color Balanced Out" and we had to pick a different color. We both agreed the next best color for the FFE was Ice Storm #2. When we swapped the FFE for the MKZ Hybrid she got Platinum Dune Metallic but only because there was no Ice Storm #2.

We have seen a number of FFH and FFE with Ice Storm #2 and they still look great.

tesla has 5 color options only white is not an upcharge. 1,000 upcharge and 2,000 for red.
ID4 has 4 colors if an upgrade to ID4 has two more colors with an upcharge of 395 for red.
The I pace has 12 color options buy only 2 are not upcharge cost.
Audi has 10 colors but only black is not an upcharge. the rest are 500 each
polstar 2 has 6 colors black is not an upcharge but the other 5 colors cost 1,200
Kona has 6 colors to pick from
Niro has 7 colors to pick from
Volvo XC40 has black no upcharge and 7 more for 650 each total of 8 colors
Mache has 7 colors and 3 with an upcharge of 400 to 600, and GT has 8 colors with no up charge.

what other EV did I forget and Paint?

Bolt - 8 colors on LT and 9 on Premier.

Or looking at it another way: the 2 whites, 2 grays, and silver combined are roughly as popular as the blues- and one of those blues can only be bought on a small fraction of MME.

I wonder how the numbers change if the rules were leveled? As in available to all trims and same cost. I personally think the number of colors is more than enough, just the color spectrum choices tend to be bunched in the Black/Gray zone. I totally understand the marketing for having a 'exclusive' color for a top end trim like GT/FE, and it probably lean those purchasers towards those color.
