My turn for some dealer advice. Looking at a 2023 Mach-e GT Performance Edition at Van Bortel Ford in East Rochester. Anyone here have any dealings with them? The Internet sales guy has been very helpful.

Just not sure they will give me what I need to get out of my current Ford Options lease. Not to mention, I just reupped BlueCruise for 3 years for $600 (perBC purchase back in 2021). The new BlueCruise subscription is way too high, IMO. Yet, I do like it when cruising the Interstates.

Their internet sales is probably miles better than the person I talked to last year in person. There was some new girl that I talked to in the show room that completely flaked on me when I was first interested back in August. Replied to like two emails and kept saying her sales and finance managers were out and they needed to answer my questions. I eventually went to Friendly Ford in Geneva and bought from there - it was cake.

But we have bought two Subarus through Van Bortel and always had a good experience. Both through their internet sales guy - Vince (doubt he also does their Ford internet sales). He was great. With my wife's Forester in 2020 we basically did the entire deal over email and only went in to sign final papers and drop off the trade. They even valued the trade (with some detail provided) over email and didn't even question anything about it when we dropped it off.

Thank you. The first guy I got at Van Bortel Ford did not reply to my questions. The Internet Sales person, Matt, stepped in and has been excellent. Supposed to be a nice day for a drive on Saturday (after a return to winter today and tomorrow) and my wife and I will make a day of it with shopping and a stop at the casino on the way home. Maybe with a new GT. 🤞 ;)

Just a weird thought, if I were selling new Mach-E of any persuasion, I would want to deliver each one with a NACS adapter in the glove box. Someone at Ford has to be thinking about this…

I didn't expect Ford would have the Tesla adaptors out to the dealers as of yet, @Jiji. When they do, it will either be included with the price of the EV or an optional item like the electrical cord is now.

I did purchase the GTP. The deal was too good to pass up.

Congrats on the new GTPE, love the color.

And as of today my Rivian is itching to try out the Ford adapper, unless Rivian pulls off some sort of miracle and gets me one first.

Liv & Patrick of Mach-e VLOG posted a video today of them charging a Rivian with the Ford Adapter. Rivian must have sent out a software update already.

Thanks for the tip, I’ll check it out. Not really concerned as the Ford rollout seems trouble free so far, will see how the distribution of adapters goes.

How bad is it to find a Fast Charger upstate? I thinking of taking a drive up on Monday for the eclipse.

Define upstate? Everyone seems to think of that word differently. But no matter what, I wouldn’t bother. We’re expecting our county to triple in population. So I have to imagine lines at chargers will be so long you’ll miss the Eclipse. Unless you leave now.

Yeah that was my concern I was thinking of heading up to Ticonderoga it's normally about 4 hours. It's just under 200 miles and a full charge on the GT should get me there. It doesn't get me to total, buy 99.8 is good enough.

It might not be too bad in Ticonderoga as I don't think you'll see Totality there. To find chargers, you can use the FordPass app. Online, use PlugShare website for planning.

@Murse-In-Airy, you home on Monday? I see Watertown basically shutdown the city to traffic for the day.

I gotta work Monday. We’re expecting so much traffic that all medical emergencies may have to be moved by helicopter. We’re bringing up a couple other helicopters from other parts of the state that aren’t getting the totality to help the community out.

Ticonderoga might not be too bad. There is DCFCing at a Mirabito (I think that’s the brand of gas station) just off the Schroon Lake exit where you get off the northway to go over to Ticonderoga. But I’d still plan extra time in case you have to wait.
