I realize PAAK has its fans, with some not experiencing major issues, but given many of the posts highlighting problems I hadn't plan to use it. I don't mind carrying the FOB. But it seems as though activating PAAK provides additional functionality to FordPass so I am now wondering if I should revisit PAAK activation. Are there any problems using both PAAK and a key FOB? Does the car get confused?

Same here. I would recommend that you set it up so you can get the additional functionality, including the ability to start the car with a password and no phone or key when necessary.

I do this all the time, carry both, with no issues.
Ditto, I don't usually drive the car without the Fob (not a fan of using pass codes) but there have been plenty of times that I've gone out to my car and moved it without the Fob with no issues.

Is the range for which PAAK and FOB detect the car similar? If you lock the car with the FOB when leaving the car, would it then unlock because the phone is within range? Just curious about these sorts of potential for cross talk. But sounds like no real issues.

It doesn't unlock when the fob or PAAK gets in the range - the welcome lights are turned on, but the fob or PAAK needs to be next to the door and the button on the door needs to be pressed. Multiple times when I'm putting something in the trunk my wife tries to open the door but can't until I open a door myself.

The only problem with using both I had was when left the phone on the charger and locked the car - and it beeped on me twice indicating that I left the key inside.
