What do we think the warranty is on the 220 charger that came with my 2021 GT? It's always been blue, but is now orange when charging. Is the warranty b2b, drive train, or battery system? I'm going to confront service department. Anybody had experience with this?

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

I have the same issue on a 6 month old charger. Only ever plugged it in on 110 and covered up in a garage. I took it to the dealer a few days ago and after four hours of waiting they confirmed that it's not the car, it's the charger (which I knew already) and then gave me the Ford Customer Service number to call about it. I called Ford Customer Service who then proceeded to tell me it's something the dealer has to take care of. My usual dealer is 90 mins away but I may have to take it to a closer one (that I don't like much) now to deal with this. Sigh...

odd the dealer pushed you off on ford customer care, as the portable charger is considered part of the vehicle warranty so the replacement would have to come go thru the dealer.

Normally orange light just means the charger is too warm. Hopefully not hot. A number of factors can result in the charger becoming warm. Let it cool, then try. During very hot days, I've needed to charge overnight only because the charger can't dissipate heat in our enclosed garage during the day.

Same. I've been using the mobile charger for 8 months and the orange light problem has happened only once. Unplug/replug fixed it.

Yep, I've tried same dozens of times over two month period, just completely stopped working. It's a garage but it's outside and not hot at all. Literally had it unplugged for weeks, plug in and within 15 secs it's not working. Tried different outlet as well. Fortunately have another extra cheap charger and it's worked perfectly meanwhile. When it first started happening the unplug/plug worked but then it would fail a few days later again. That time until fail got shorter and shorter. Then it just stopped working at all.

This happens to ours all the time so we don’t trust it anymore and just use the the charger that came with our Chevy bolt since it’s never once given us an issue.

We weren’t hearing of this happening on 120V way back when. Sad that it’s now become a thing. I am perfectly happy with my Brand T Mobile unit that is priced at half of what Ford is charging for the FMC. Yes, I do need to use a destination adapter with it, but it’s a lot more flexible with regard to charging amperage and seems to be more robust from a longevity standpoint. ??

Just got the one came with my 22 MME replaced under whichever warranty. Its amber light had been lighted up, even in 50 degrees. So I took it in, they did some tests confirmed it's the charger, that agreed with my suspicion.
So they ordered a new one 13 days ago. It finally came in yesterday. Plugged in at home. Hasn't lighted up the yellow light in 10 mins charging. Fingers crossed.

The dealer ordered it? I talked to mine this morning, said they'd check out what they needed to do to get a new one, haven't heard anything since. :)

That’s what my dealer did. They plugged my problematic charger into their newly installed 240v outlet to charge my MME, at the same time they checked for error code and indicated the charger issue. So they ordered a replacement charger.
Mine amber light only lighted up at 240V, not until they installed a 240 v outlet my dealership could do the test

Thanks everyone. Appreciate the info and feedback (not sarcasm, this site has been immensely helpful with Mach e ownership). Will be interesting to see what the dealer says when they finally get back to me with info.
