Waze replaced by Google Maps?

Waze and Google maps are completely independent of each other and, while both owned by Google, do not share data. This is largely in part to Android and iOS rules.

Google does croudsource it's map data similar to Waze as of a couple years ago. You can report some similar data in Google maps. They make it a little less known because instead of a button you have to use the voice assistant on AA to make the report. On mobile there's a chat bubble with a plus in it to make the report. You must also be in navigation mode.

Waze isn't going anywhere. It was likely just a bug.

The notification function is not available on the MME screen when running GMaps, so there doesn't appear to be a way to report unless you can use the mobile simultaneously.

Checked and no update pending. However, when I searched for Waze in the PlayStore, it showed there was an update. Thanks. Hope this works.

Go to settings on your phone, then search for Android auto. Open that up and click on customize launcher. Make sure Waze is selected

Then why is there often a little marker next to a report of an accident in Google Maps that says "reported by Waze user"?

I've noticed this when driving on occasion when driving in different parts of the country. My guess is that Google has been testing this feature in certain locations. I know even in my home state (Illinois) I'll see those markers when I drive further down into the southern suburbs, but when I'm near Chicago they are completely gone. I've noticed them again when driving a rental through Kansas City, and again in random parts of the country when I drove my Mach-E from Denver to Chicago. It has to be a location-based beta feature.

Have you tried starting Waze before connecting AA and then connecting with it already open?
