So, the conclusion: the tire shop could not see me for 2 days, so I went to the dealer. It turns out that there were actually two punctures in the tire, and damage to the tire sidewall, so I needed a new tire for $300. Fortunately, I had about $150 in FordPass points, so I got out for only $150.

Looks like I got a little parting gift on my weekend trip to New Jersey ? I plan on stopping by the tire store tomorrow morning to see if they can just remove it and repair the tire. I'd rather not buy new tires, since I just bought new tires!

I buy all my tires from discount tire. Even without road hazard warranty, they patch tires for free.

agree I was really impressed with discount tire, had a nail in tire, they pulled patched for free, (using the proper pucks to lift the car), even more surprising they checked all the wheels for the proper torque on wheel nuts with a torque wrench that really impressed me.

Years ago, I used to buy from TireRack and take it to @Discount Tire for mounting. But in the last 10 years or so, their prices have also gotten very competitive.

The cost of tires is crazy. Some years back, DT did some accidental damage to my F-150 wheels, scratching or denting all 4 (post-Covid, new untrained employees). They gave me new wheels, and tire certificates on both vehicles. Sold the F-150 after getting the Lightning, and transferred (cancelled, pro-rated refund, bought new) the tire certificates. They basically give you the money for a new tire. It's a no brainer with the cost of these tires.

I always buy the road hazard warranty. Free rotation, free balancing, free tire repair or replacement for the life the tire.

I've always gone to the TireRack headquarters and bought and had tires installed there.

I always within the first week or two of buying a new car, I take it to discount tire/america's tire and buy the road hazard tire warranty.

Only if it is leaking, could just be a screw head not even penetrating into the air cavity of the tire.

I made an appointment for a slow leak in my wife's MME at our Ford dealers quicklane, it was at 2PM today and I got there and they had a sign up that their systems were down, guessing from the dealership system "hack" issue going on right now. But now I need to figure out somewhere to get this handled and may have to go to Discount.

I have liked our local Discount Tire in the past, but this thread and just in general how much tougher it is to hoist EVs, has me worried about going.
