Hi,

I just saw these butttons next to my headlights controls. What do these do? They don't show up anywhere in the owners manual. Not even the symbols list

Are they a way to turn on adaptive cruise control (everytime i use the buttons on my steering wheel to try to get adaptive cruise control, my car defaults to Hands-Free Driving)?

Thanks
.

You have to turn lane assist off when you engage adaptive cruise if you don't want it. It defaults to it.........I believe.

Also worth noting that Ford didn't make these up for the Mach-E, they seem to be an industry standard. I believe in my previous vehicles they would adjust the brightness of the instrument cluster; on my old Prius, it would adjust the brightness of the speed display screen.

These buttons are used so rarely that it really could be relegated to the Sync system. Even - gasp - a slider. It funny what little legacy remnants carry over that don’t really make sense, but it’s cheaper to repurpose some things than to reinvent everything for the Mach E.

Well, if someone accidentally turned their display brightness to zero, there might be an issue recovering from that with just soft buttons/slider. Physical buttons make sense from that respect. ?‍♂?

I had my car serviced and noticed the technician lowered the setting, and I had to adjust it while I was on the road since I just put my sunglasses on and couldn't see the display too well any more.

it depends on the user. I tend to maximally lower the dashboard brightness on every car I drive so as to focus on the outside.
