I have been convinced that a BEV would be my next car for a while. I even put down the $1,000 deposit on the Tesla Model 3 when it was announced. A year later I canceled my deposit. Why? Because I didn't like the design of the exterior or interior. I felt I would just be settling on buying a car because it was a BEV. I keep cars 10 years so I need to be convinced that it's the right one for me.

My hopes were up earlier this year when I saw a Mach E. It was pretty. So I went and drove one. Once I sat inside I knew this was the car for me. I signed the papers and the next day they delivered it.

Its electric (BEV) and I've been doing dozens of short trips every week running kids around this summer.

It has great great practical features and will be fun as hell to drive!

I work for an environmental agency so it will get me Kudos with the boss.

First, I had a Tesla Y Performance on order, but my daughter's Tesla 3 arrived, and I went through the checkoff list with her while the Tesla guy watched in our garage. The interior felt cheap, there were several quality problems that she had to have fixed (MISSING BOLT ON BACK DOOR HINGE!). She paid $10K extra for the FSD and is so pissed that they turned off the radar on the front in the most recent release -- if she wants to use the FSD features that are turned on at night the car jumps all over the place. I canceled the Y; test drove a Mach E and in December 2021 ordered the 2022 Mustang Mach E GT in almost the same color as my 1966 Frost Silver Mustang which is the 2022 Iced Blue Silver Metallic. I picked it up last weekend and love it! Note, there were no quality control issues at all.

I'm a massive Mustang fan (owned 5 so far) but thought to myself "I want a 4 door electric Mustang with more room and suv-like". A year later Ford announced the Mach-E...

When I first heard Ford was building an electric 4 door Mustang I thought they were smoking crack. When I first saw one I really liked it which is amazing because I was looking forward to hating it. I decided to test drive one and I was really impressed so I placed an order two days later. It checks a lot of boxes for me. Since I no longer live in a cold weather climate I don't need a 13 mpg 4x4 truck. I have a two door rear wheel drive Lexus convertible so adding a traditional Mustang to the stable doesn't make much sense. A motorcycle accident several years ago ended my riding days. The Mach E gives me a taste of two wheel acceleration. In short I've got comfort for my aging bones and all the fun of a sports car.
