What charge in Ontario

Good afternoon everybody. So my wife and I finally took the plunge and purchased a 2026 Mach e extended premium. We were told that it will arrive in September but we got a update that it will be here in 3 weeks.So not a lot of time to look for Chargers I narrowed it down to either charge point or Grizzl E classic.

The charger will be in the garage it will only be my wife charging we don't need anything fancy just something to charge.

If you want to take advantage of the grizzl e club and be paid back some for charging your car and get the charger for free its a great option. For me i did not want to do any of that I purchased the Charge Point + and I'm happy with that.

Just went through this with a friend. The Classic Grizzl is a safe bet. The "connect" gives you wifi for $50 more, if that is important to you. Do you have power in your garage? Are you installing a hardwired or plug in charger? Do you have plenty of bandwidth on power?

Different chargers allow for plugs vs hardwire, the 48a will charge your Mach-e faster, the 80a will cover a newer/faster charging EV in the future.

Personally I had a dumb 32a charger from 2016 until 2025, then I moved it to my parents house (we go up alot) and I got a Grizzl 48a for myself.

Wifi not important for us ,we can use the ford app to check charge rate.We will be hard wiring it for sure.Dont like plugs have kids.Thank you guys.

You should also look to see if your utility provider or state offer any incentives to install a Level 2 EVSE. Ford offers some incentives, too, I believe.

For instance, my electricity provider is Xcel energy, and they offer some incentives: https://co.my.xcelenergy.com/s/residential/ev-charging/incentives/charger-wiring-rebate

But I know other companies do that as well...

I've had my Grizzl-E charger for almost four years now, and it's been very reliable. The only issue is that I purchased the wi-fi version and I've never been able to connect it to my home wi-fi because it uses 2.4 GHz. I would recommend getting the basic version instead!

What ford app? Cause I can't set rates in my Ford app like I can do on my tesla

Does your home wifi only brought 5nhz? Can you enable a 2.4 band? If they are named the same you might need to name your 2.4 something different.

I have a mesh network that broadcasts in both, I think I had to do something to get it to work but can't remember. Call the grizz-l folks they are very helpful

I had several conversations with both our internet provider and Grizzl-E. We were unsuccessful in our attempts to enable both frequencies. 🫤

I set the guest account on my mesh to 2.4ghz only and use that to connect to my grizzle mini.
