Where is the kick sensor?

Kick to open has never really worked for me, and recently looking up videos it's supposed to just work easily? Like there isn't a trick to it? Is the sensor something I can see the may be obstructed? Maybe I'll get a warranty repair

The sensor wires are in the bumper below the reversing light, try to get your shin close to the light when kicking.

And the kick only works with the key, even if you can open the hatch because the door is unlocked, the kick doesn't work without they key.

Kick to Open (KtO) used to work awesomely for me. I used to not understand the KtO fail posts from people. The occurrence of successful KtO slowly deteriorated for me to the point that it functioned for less than 10% of my kicks. Opening the lift gate became a Hokey-Pokey dance. I had an issue with PaaK that required me to remove all phones (just the one, actually) from the car and create a new PaaK. KtO started functioning perfectly again, but it deteriorated more quickly. Now I am back to a couple of failed kicks, then reaching down to the button and pressing it, then giving my car the finger. I might start lifting my leg on the thing. ??

Yeah I think kto instability is really paak instability. The realization that the car can be unlocked and the gate button works but kto won't is key. Kto only really works if I have my phone out in the app and make sure Bluetooth is connected. Which makes it kind of useless. Unless I start carrying the key.

I aim for the left side of the license plate with a slow kick in then out and it seems to work 99% of the time for me. I do always have a fob in my pocket though.

I turned my kick to open off since it rarely worked when I needed it. This coincides with how often the car doesn’t recognize my PaaK.

Maybe it was cancelled by OTA to lessen complaints about it being deleted from newer builds.

Kick foward on left of the license plate. Dont do side to side. Someone have me that tip and it work 98 percent of the time.

I thought the kick sensor was my son's backside when I kicked him up the stairs in his teens when he gave me some lip? Wait, that didn't happen... He's in his 30s now and still remembers that Dad has a good foot.

Kick to open works just fine for me with my phone in my pocket. Yes, the app has to be open in the background. If it does not work well, you may need a RFA module update to enhance the Bluetooth connection.
