Windshield crack and gap in A pillar

Hi,

i was driving yesterday and heard a crack sound. It came twice and was loud inside the car. I noticed that A pillar plastic was falling down while driving. I drove home and checked that windshield also had a crack.
can someone help me if both are related?

what should I do. File a glass claim with insurance or is this A warranty issue.

Can you take a photo of the windshield glass from outside the vehicle, showing the origination point of the crack?
