Buckle up…. I have a weird one…..

Ok so boom. I commute 56 miles one way to work (from Gardena, CA to Simi Valley, CA). EVERYDAY at the same exact two locations, my wireless CarPlay disconnects. After a few seconds it reconnects then a few miles down the road, it reconnects after disconnecting one more time. It happens as soon as I get to this specific location.

I once remembered that traveling from Lancaster, CA to Mojave, CA the USAF uses burst transmitters across the highway that disrupts the adaptive cruise control on cars for a few seconds. I wonder if this is what is happening to CarPlay at this exact location.

very strange. Any ideas on how to test this theory? How would I even begin to troubleshoot this!?!
@Ford Motor Company any ideas?

I have a similar thing happen with Android Auto. My running theory is some wireless broadband or site to site wireless may be interfering with it. If I stop near a certain spot it always disconnects. However, if I don't have to stop and can drive through it's fine.

it is possible that you have a higher priority WiFi access point that you are passing and it is auto-joining and dropping your carplay.

Do you use Xfinity? They have wifi everywhere. Perhaps a starbucks or other place you sometimes frequent?

It happened to me, and once i realized which SSID it was connecting to instead of my carplay, i went into wifi settings and deselected "auto-join" on that SSID.

Just to chime in here @Ford
Same problem here in Huntsville, Alabama. There is a specific spot on Jordan Lane that disconnects wireless Apple CarPlay every single time for approximately four seconds and then carpet comes back on.

I really noticed it one day when I was trying to GPS navigate to a place I had never been before in that area of town and the NAV ( Apple Maps) crashed .

PS we are about as far away from any of the military facilities on Redstone Arsenal as you can get so I don’t think it’s interference from military

On my route home from work, the same thing happens to me at the exact same location like clock work.
Not sure whats causing it, might be the carplay software itself? Because i had no issues in the same location with my lexus gx on bluetooth.
