Ford is trying to move fast, hopefully in a few years this will all be behind them.

Max out the number of profiles you have by creating a third one (name it Test or something generic) Everything will come back to normal.

I did this yesterday morning and so far it has worked!!! My 2 dummy profiles are "dumb" and "dumber".

How to reboot sync?

Sorry if my reply didn’t go thru, I was in a bad internet spot. To reboot, hold volume button down and the right arrow button down at the same time for 10 seconds. The screen should go black, then everything will restart.

So after mine did the update to 3.5.3.3, I had a couple glitches happen.

The very first happened immediately after it updated—saw the update happened on the app, hopped in, and when I shifted out of park my car freaked out and had a shift fault and said service vehicle soon. It took 2 full shut-offs of car to make the dial shifter work. It scared me a lot because it wouldn’t move when the error occurred.

The second glitch was the profile thing where it put mine on guest randomly a few days after the update, and I could not switch profiles. What fixed it, as someone mentioned, was to create a third test profile, then I could switch back to my main profile and delete the test one.

Mine did this yesterday, got in the car after the gym noticed no one pedal and was in engaged mode. Normally have it unbridled and one pedal. Noticed my profile wasn’t at the top and when i went to change it back it would not switch. Turned car on and off when i got home with no change. Got in the car the next day, all is fine. #ghostsINtheMachine

My car updated to Powerup 3.5.3.3 and this started happening to me sporadically.

I noticed the seat and mirrors will still move into the correct position for the selected profile, but the radio and drive mode would not switch out of guest. Happened to me yesterday, did the soft reset and it was fine, then it happened again to my wife today after a number of drive cycles and I had to soft reset again.

I will try that third profile thing to see if the fix sticks, and would like to hear if that trick is permanent or temporary.

FordPass bugs are one thing, but the car software should be rock solid, an unexpected drive mode could cause a fender bender or worse.

is there a best way to report this to Ford?

We’re tweaking the car as often as we can to reduce costs while putting the price up. This really is a win-win for Ford, Farley was interrupted as saying.

Same thing happened to me and a reboot fixed it. I remember the reboot sequence because someone here referred to it as “down and out”. You only need to reboot when you’re down and out.

I will try doing the reset next time I'm in it. I made a third profile, and could select profiles, but then deleted the third one and the problem came back.

It happened again today. We drove to the park, took a 1 hour walk, got in the MME and NO PROFILE, back on Guest. Cannot select my profile. Both my profile and my wife's profile are both there but CANNOT BE SELECTED.

There doesn't appear to a new update so WTF?

Also, my pet peeve is that although 99% of the time the SYNC system remembers what song was playing on my USB device it NEVER shows where in the playlist it is, it always defaults to the first song in the playlist.
