I love my Mach E, but honestly, there is no way I would have paid $60k+ for it new. It's just not at that level of luxury vs price IMHO

We may laugh, but some people are paying high ADM and dealers probably list $15k, but when someone is actually serious, the dealers will gladly knock off $10k and everyone is happy.

My point is that maybe a lot of dealers never expect $15k, but list it high in case someone just walks in and have more $$ than time so just pay what's asked because, for some folks, "Haggling?, that's so getto...I'm rich so I can afford it."

When cars were $5-10k below MSRP in the old days, I know people who pay MSRP because, "Hey, it's the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price".

This is similar to me probably buying stuff like clothes, haircuts, shampoo, etc or things I never buy much/use. Just pay and move on with life ASAP. Good thing I look at the cheapest price/brands/no brand since it's not something I care much about at all.

It's hard to say honestly to me what's worth it.

Tesla MY used to be ~$50k last year, now it's $62k. Plenty of people are happy to pay and have to wait. Delivery date of the MY is now Nov. 2022 - Feb. 2023 best case OR, if you take out the wheels (lower price), it's Feb 2023 - May 2023. Even if we might not, many will pay so the manufacturers aren't worried. I don't think/see the MY as luxury when Tesla's are everywhere. Drive down a street and sometimes, see like 5 teslas out of 10 cars (in CA).

Look at any new car vs. used. People are paying $5-10k for used cars over new to get it now. I think plenty of people are willing to pay a lot more in this environment and it's an easy sell in this current market/environment. Some folks also can't wait for various reasons.

When Carmax is selling used MachE's for around $10k over MSRP, I have to believe that a lot of these dealers are selling cars at $15k over. Obviously, it depends on the market.

The contrarian point of view for just a minute... The ADM and high used prices may seem a lot more reasonable when we look back in a year or two if new car prices continue to rise.

We are not done with double digit PPI increases for durable goods. Remember, the government increased the M2 by 40% over the last two years. That's lots more cash floating around looking for things to buy.

Sound Ford in Renton Washington called today to ask if I was interested in an $87K Mach E GT in Space White. No thanks ?!

Honestly, that seems below average. I’ve been looking recently again at trading for a GT and the most common ADM I am seeing for the GTPE is $20,000, putting the price in the low $90Ks.

Yup, my Ford dealer keeps calling me about a customer abandoned MME - $20K over MSRP is their price.

I keep telling them I'll wait till my ordered MME at MSRP arrives. At least they don't charge ADM on ordered card
