I am able to pack an electric bike and folding Kayak into the car and keep the wet things in the frunk with a small cooler. Great if you want to take it on trails or use kayak on lakes or streams.

Love to see it! There's so much cargo space in the cabin, and we've really come to appreciate the versatility of the frunk as wet storage.

The roof is in play as well, if you're prepared for the range hit.

Maybe needs more ground clearance or towing capacity to classify as a proper adventure vehicle, but it's been great for us.

Nice folding kayak. I looked one over at REI... mine is a sit-on-top. I use Thule rails on my Mach E to carry it.

I agree, and this was one of its selling points for me - the Mach E (AWD ER) is a good adventure vehicle.
To wit: the attached pic is during a stop while ice racing on Lake Superior this February :pAttach files

That is very cool. I just got the folding ORU kayak so anxious to try it on local steams and lakes

As someone that has lugged around gear for backpacking trips, camping trips, and the occasional bike ride I agree a tow hitch and higher ground clearance would make this a more suitable adventure vehicle.

Bonus points if it had 110 outlets in the trunk/frunk.

We have only thrown in our inflatable standup paddle boards a couple times since we got the Mustang, but hope to do more of that this year. It's a fantastic adventure vehicle.

I agree, the MME is a great adventure car, as demonstrated by all the examples above. But don't forget two additional potential adventures that come with it: 1) what if the DCFC charger location fails to work and you're stranded too far from the nearest alternative, and 2) my HVBJB may fail at any time, forcing me to drive or be towed to the nearest Ford dealer for unknown days. I still take my MME on trips, but these two "adventures" always lurk in the back of my mind.

Why would you come into a thread to dump all over it?

I'm not at all worried about this.

I grew up with far less reliable cars and still drove all over the place, in the times before cell phones existed. 1) If the charger fails to work and I have no alternative, I call for a tow truck; at least I don't have to walk to the nearest gas station like I used to have to do; 2) If something breaks, I call for a tow truck; at least I don't have to walk to the nearest town or flag down a sketchy vehicle on the freeway like I used to have to do.

What happens if you hit a deer? What happens if you run into a piece of debris? What happens if someone else runs into you? What happens if you take a wrong turn? What happens if your tire air pressure is low? What happens if...? if? if? if?

Nah, I'm going to go out and enjoy things until something goes wrong, deal with it, and get back to enjoying things.

I've driven many 1200 mile road trips and a 2600 mile road trip and never had trouble with charging. I supposed that some day my HVBJB might need replacing. /Shrug. I'll call a tow truck, have it repaired, and move on.

One adventure an ICE vehicle gave me: Yamaha Virago 535, no gas gauge, 3.5 gallon tank. I was doing a solo road trip from AZ to northern CA and while crossing the Mojave Desert on I40, I ran into ~50 mph headwinds. I ran out of gas between Needles and Ludlow. Cell phones weren't ubiquitous. I pushed my bike for about 10 miles while Harley biker gangs passed me by.
It was an adventure.

...Yamaha Virago 535...
You had me at Virago!!

I never had a Virago, but I had several Maxims, including a Maxim-X (if you recall that one) which was very Virago-ish. Owned nothing but Yamaha for years, love 'em!! But never pushed one 10 miles. :)

I guess this fails to relate to Mach-e as an adventure car, but I can tell you my initial infatuation with performance was motorcycles, so there's that.

I'm sorry to have left a negative impression. I love my MME and I do think of it as an adventure vehicle. I accept these 2 concerns as just other adventures that might occur.

Hey, I drove a Fiat 124 for 6 years.

Please forgive my downer post.

We're going off-topic, but I can't help myself...
The number of times I had to push that bike because of my bad estimation of range was ridiculous. I'm currently riding (well, will be riding once the weather turns) a Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager, which is like a Rolls Royce next to the Virago. I looked for an affordable full bagger from Yamaha, but they're so much more expensive than the Kawasaki. Sigh.

They are valid concerns. I just don't let them turn into fears.
The only time I think about them is on this forum...

My Rolls Royce: I ride a '14 Honda Goldwing Valkyrie today. Not a defector from Yamaha so much as I fell in love with the big boxer engine (zero vibration). Only Honda model I ever owned, and possibly all I'll ride here out. Love naked bikes, love the power. That said, my '87 V-Max was my fav, but such a hard bike for two-up and for road trips. And so so long ago.

I'd be lying if I said, despite not experiencing any issues, it wasn't on my mind.
