Try messaging the Ford EV advisor if you don’t have a scan tool. Your dealer service advisor can also see it.
I texted the Ford EV service advisor and asked them what the HVB state of health is in my '22 GT. They indicated they did not have access to that information, but did tell me the state of charge for both the HVB and the 12v battery (not particularly helpful, to be honest). I also asked them about an alert that has been showing up in my online Ford account, and they couldn't tell me anything about that either. So I am not sure how useful that service really is.

I am told you can use a bluetooth OBDII dongle, and the Car Scanner app to get to SOH (state of health) of the High Voltage battery
I have not been successful, even signed up for premium service in the Car Scanner app. There are a ton of metrics the app provided, but I cannot locate the SOH. I have searched, googled etc, but I cannot seen to find it. I even tried asking the forum, but appearently my difficulty is unique. I am usually good with tech and mechanical things, been doing my own auto-repairs, upgrades and mods for over 40 years, so not sure why this one has me stumped.

But maybe it will work for you. Your Ford dealership should also be able to provide this information if asked, the next time you are there (we have an upcoming recall for the power-loss door access problem, I believe, that says the dealer has to do it, not over-the-air).

Good luck, and let us all know how/if you are successful!

Unless it’s really bad and a warranty claim (70% health which would be pretty obvious), I find it’s better not to know as I couldn’t do anything about it anyways.
I agree! 😀

Take a look at my post on the first page with screenshots of the car scanner app. I'm using the free version and it shows SOH as 93% for mine. I'm not sure why you dont see it unless the OBDII dongle you're using is acting up.

I am one of those crazy people who keeps cars FOREVER, so I just want to know that I am doing the right things to keep my battery healthy as long as possible. You actually can do things to help your battery (fewer fast charges, only occasional 100% charges etc). It is just a very different thing than maintaining an ICE, so trying my best to make sure I can get the most out of my EV.

I have an OBDII, Car Scanner premium, and have not been able to locate the HVB SOH metric anywhere. 2023 MachE Premium EX, maybe somebody has specific advise with the Car Scanner app locating the SOH?

Can you post screenshots of your car scanner output? it shows multiple pages of info on your phone and also works on Android auto off your mach-e screen (not sure if it works on carplay as well)

Will do as soon as I get the OBDII dongle out of another car...I was checking my daughters Fiat 500, and accidentally left it in the car. I will let you know once I try again - maybe it does work in CarPlay - so maybe I can see it better on a bigger screen (old man here ;))

I thought this was correct too, based on other threads, that they know soc not soh?

There's probably some variations based on your privacy settings, and maybe your country or state?

I have never called a service advisor given than flipping open the app is pretty easy 😁

We know from the studies what to do to extend your battery life.

But taking measurements won’t change that nor will it prove or disprove what works.

If you “do all the right things” and you lose 2% capacity per year and measure that, it’s impossible for you to know what would have happened if you just DC charge to 100% daily instead.

It’s like dieting and exercising but never stepping on a scale. Whether you step on the scale or not, your weight is what it is. All the scale can do is give you solace or sadness.

But if measuring it makes you feel better, go for it! It would only give me unnecessary anxiety.

Is it possible to achieve this battery health check using an obd cable and some sort of windows app? I refer to the cable that I use for forscan changes.
Anyone?
I found OBDWiz for windows which I can try, but I'd prefer to get a recommendation of a working app for windows.
