Paak failing again?

I received a FordPass update a day or 2 ago and Paak hasn't worked since. No walk away lock, it doesn't open the doors with the button on the window column, (I have to open the app and get the door to unlock there, or enter in the passcode on the window column), and it won't start ("key not found"). Paak has worked so well for so long, I can't believe we are back dealing with Ford's software shenanigans. Bluetooth, Android auto, etc, all work.

Anyone else having issues with Paak?

Same here, has worked well for 4.5 years but after this week's FP update it is completely broken. Tried everything, won't work.

Just walk up unlock has been failing. Forced to unlock phone and, in some cases, open the FordPass app and unlock the car that way. I can still drive with just my phone and walk away lock is still working.

Funnily, sometimes pumping the unlock button on the door again and again and again will finally get the car to unlock but not always. Annoying but I've also set up my door code and FordPass backup code in the event PaaK completely fails.

Yes, PAAK has become unusable for my wife and I starting 2 days ago.

Although I didn't (and still don't?) think it is due to a Fordpass update. I am on the latest Fordpass SW - 5.28. Google Play shows this version was released on 9/8/25. And my phone is set to auto update apps, so I think I would have had this newest version for a couple weeks now - if I understand Android automatic app updates correctly.

Our current PAAK problem precisely correlates to a SW/Security update on our Samsung phones 2 nights ago. She has a Galaxy S22 and I have an S22+. My S22+ shows the software is updated to S906USQS8FYI2.

PAAK has been working mostly well over the last several months (year?) and I've been happy with it. But in the 2 days since that security patch on our phones, PAAK is useless.

I can turn bluetooth off and on, and then it will connect to the car. But it must not hold that connection long, because by the end of my drive it gives me a "Restart now or key is needed" message and walk away lock does not work. I can come back to the car later and PAAK will still not be working until I cycle my phone's bluetooth. And yes, I've also restarted my phone to see if that would help.

It has gotten to the point that I started carrying my fob this afternoon.

I'm curious what phones (and SW) those who are having problems are using.

Maybe @Ford Motor Company can have someone look into this? Because there was a very drastic change in PAAK behavior 2 days ago.

It wouldn't be the first time an Android, Google, or Samsung device update nuked PAAK...very possible.

Ford gets caught in the middle of this because they can't really control if the device suddenly changes how it handles Bluetooth messages after an update. The blame would be on the device update.

Lee is correct. I believe the last time there was an issue, Ford had to wait for Samsung to push out a fix.

I've got an S25+ and it updated to Oneui 8 a couple of weeks ago. PAAK is working good for me. I don't have any problems with it.
I assume you've deleted your key from Fordpass and reset it.

I have verizon S24 and received android 16 one UI 8 yesterday and FP 5.28 and PAAK is working for me.

Yes, I have reset rebooted my phone several times.

I have android 15 one UI 7. Maybe I need to wait for an android update?

You should be getting Android 16 soon. Hopefully that will get it going. I just got A16 a couple weeks ago and FP is working good for me.

Yes. while it started great when I got the car, it’s been acting up for a few months. 2024 GT. Very annoying.

For me this is a FP issue. PaaK was fine but stopped working immediately after the FP update earlier this week. I have done every reset and re-install possible but still broken. i have loved this car for the 4.5 years I have been driving it but FP does make it difficult. I have never understood why Ford did not build an app specific for the MachE rather than repurposing an App that is used on all of their cars.
