Yes absolutely, The springs change the height of the car which will change your camber. The bars do nothing for the height so even if you were to put the bars in later, you would not need to change your alignment.
Great, thanks.....wish you lived closer

2022 Mach E GT (Non-Performance)
Hi all,

Been a lurker here for a real long time (long enough to begin my journey at the start of the massive bouncy thread). My wife hated driving or riding in my mach e (made her sick all the time from the bouncy / harsh ride) and passengers would make similar comments in the back seat. Following the advice of Mark and the other forum members I had the rally springs installed on my 2022 Mach E GT (non-performance) last week. I live in the northern burbs of Chicago and had it done by a ford dealership close to me . I have to say the modification is completely worth it and, like what other members have said, it really tames the bumps on the road and makes it feel like how a normal suspension should. Not a luxury car but it just feels normal now. Before I could really feel every bump in the road and the bounce was crazy. If there is anyone on the fence, I would pull the trigger as this was so worth it for me. Just a couple notes:

- I called a few dealerships and they all had different pricing (quoting the same six hours) so I would call around. The estimate was a near $400 difference for me. I supplied the adjustable camber bolt but the dealership didn't use it. The guy said they used an adjustable for the front so I'm guessing they used what they had onsite. I used a dealership because I didn't have the sway bars on hand and had the extended warranty. Plus, doesn't hurt to see what the ride is like with just the springs.
- I did reach out to a couple suspension shops that say they can install for a Mach E (sway bars and springs), before the sway bars were out of stock (didn't know about shocksurplus). The difference in price between the springs and sway bar together and just the springs was $100 in both instances. Happy to provide the locations if you're near Chicago.

Still contemplating the sway bars in the future but all else considered, I'm really happy with the car if I left it alone today. I really can't thank you all enough for the insight and knowledge.

Mike

I'm on Marks calendar for this Thursday and Friday, I'll give an update once completed.
Contemplating on getting tires as well.....255/55-19 Pirelli's as I might as well do all at the same time.

This past Saturday, Mark helped me install the Rally OEM springs and Eibach sway bars on my 2023 GT PE. Even though my model has the Magneride suspension, there is still a noticeable difference in the handling of the vehicle. I'm not sure how long the settling-in period is for new springs, but over the past few days that I've been driving the updated suspension, I've noticed the following:
  • Harmonic bouncing/bobble-heading is vastly improved. Previously, if I merged into a section of the highway that was uneven, the entire car would bounce up and down for a good few seconds. While it's not entirely gone, it's significantly reduced. Speed-bumps are especially noticeable.
  • Tight, fast turns handle a lot smoother, especially the harsh side-to-side sway.
  • Jolts from medium to large potholes feel less aggressive.
Although a side-by-side comparison of the factory GTPE springs vs the Rally OEM springs shows a pretty big difference in spring height, my car was not noticeably higher after the install. Could be the weight of the AWD + extended battery combo, but that's just a guess. The rear sits about 1/2" higher than the front but again, unless you have a measuring stick out against your car, you're not going to visually notice.

Overall, the install was a smooth — but long, process thanks to Mark's expertise. Aligning the bolts for the rear suspension was definitely where most of the install time and effort went. Thank you again @markboris — you are seriously an incredible person and a master mechanic! 🙇‍♂️

I cannot recommend this suspension upgrade enough! If you're on the fence about the sway bars, I would say that they're a must with the springs (not to mention you're already in that area of the car).

Thanks for the complements Austin and was great to meet you and your wife. 😊

You mention it was a long process but at 4 1/2 hours for full springs and bars replacement isn’t bad and happened because you did half the work! It took more time after that because we added a physical liftgate power switch and updated like 12 modules including the battery safety one then had the 4WD alignment done. 😳 So yes it was a full day but well worth it. I like it when everyone’s happy with the results!

This is really great to hear, Austin! I'm psyched to know that the springs work with Magneride shocks and improve the ride of the GT.

Mark. Is. The. Best.

Just spotted this thread--thanks so much to JohnFoxeSheets for the details! My 2022 (non-PE) GT's "lease (Ford Options) is up this coming July, and as my wife hates the bounces and impacts of the stock ride so much, the plan is to turn it back and find something used (maybe a Rally if I'm lucky) with a softer ride. With this, though...I couldn't do the work myself, so I'd need to find a shop I trust not to damage the battery tray lifting the car, but I'll have to do the math on the parts and labor plus the buyout on my 2022 versus finding something to replace it. Either way, again, thank you! {Jonathan}

Any tips for aligning the lower control arm to knuckle when installing the rear springs? The LCA-knuckle bolts are not tapered and there's barely any room for the bolt to go in straight due to the lateral arm (on the bolt side).

It’s the most difficult part of the installation. I wish I could give you secret, but other than you need to use a hydraulic jack to compress the spring, you “just” need to finesse everything into alignment. Good luck.

No kidding. I managed to get everything aligned but then the spring was about half inch away from the bottom seat stop after all the back and forth. Time to disassemble again :poop:
