Hopefully enhanced hands-free coverage is part of this roadmap, that’s currently the biggest drawback with BlueCruise. Rivian just released their universal hands free (UHF) software that works on almost any road. I’d like to see Ford get there as well. Improved hands-free coverage is more important to me than eyes-off driving.

$30,000 EV but with an option of "eyes free" driving for $$ like Tesla charges for FSD is going to be the case.
The skeptics are going to be like: can it tow a house and haul half of Home Depot and still go uphill some 750 miles on one charge? If not, they won’t buy it regardless how good it’ll be.

Blue Cruise 1.5 unmapped is quite good. This is Ford’s great advantage over most not named Tesla or Hyundai, though it needs lane markings

However, it’s only been available on the 2025 mach e, and now in 2026 the higher 2026 explorer trims

Press release indicates a desire to bring their best technology to mass market. I hope their hard work pays off. Let the ADAS wars begin

I will be blocking any "AI Assistant". I have no use for such an "enhancement".

I will also look for a way to place a wager on the timeline for the new eyes off driving technology launching in 2028. Of course I will have to ensure that the fine print excludes 12/31/2028 as still qualifying as 2028.

I jest, not going to bet against Ford, but the track record of promised releases matching promised dates is very Musk-like.

This was CES. They made an announcement to stay relevant, nothing more.
