Well, it’s time. My mid-November built FE is at the dealership and I’m scheduled to pick it up tomorrow. I tried to tell the sales person about this 12v battery/software update concern. He said “it’s up-to-date” in a manner that felt like he’s said it a 1000 times before.

I made the mistake of discussing the LVB concerns with my wife. Her position is I should walk away and wait for things to be resolved. Absent something horrible on the test drive (eg. Won’t start, Driver screen that sounds like a razor, etc), I’m going forward with the purchase anyway. I’ll never hear the end of it if it strands us in the cold....

I'm afraid something still isn't right. Koons called me that they were buttoning up my Mach E and I should pick it up at 5:30. When I arrived, it wasn’t out front yet and the service manager checked. It turns out everything seemed fine but when they started to drive it around it put itself in Park and wouldn’t come out. I didn't see the screens so I'm not sure what messages, if any were displayed.

Sigh.

That’s bad but the bright side you didn’t find it out two days later and they found it while at dealership... hope Ford figures this out soon enough.
Feel your pain.

So i guess you left it there and theyre calling the engineers again? Man, they should just take the car and give you another one at this point and they can just disect this one.

Correct, another owner had the same problem as mine, his dealer most likely ordered the same part as mine. Will see.

14B227 would be the DC to DC converter, that 10E994 is close to it. 10B689 is the charger module.

I’m told actually a gateway module, I’m wrong on the part I focused on.

This epony post sounds like what they described above:

The car started just fine and warmed up while I scraped about 6 inches of snow off. Then I noticed all of the errors. Various sensors were not working, AWD was not working, powertrain malfunction service vehicle soon. I tried cleaning off all of the sensors to no avail. Could not put the car in gear. It was showing charged at 100%.
and then:
Just heard from the dealer. They said it needed two software updates, which they have done. One was for the powertrain and the other was for the outside sensors. Nothing about the 12v battery. I am on my way to get it. Here's hoping there aren't any more issues!

sorry, at least Ford is helping you directly and on it. I’m not feeling confident a part is my issue, but that’s what I have wait for.

So my car was dead this morning. Day 5 of owning it. Haven't driven it since day 3.

Had to use a jump box to get the frunk open. PITA to unsnap the plastic away to get to the 12v battery jump points, but it lit up as soon as I got power to it. Got in and started it up and let it run for 1/2 hour.

Had the ? and "Service soon" message. I shut it off, turned back on, moved it. After the 3rd power cycle I think, the ? and message went away. Went up to the store, no issues.

Drove the car in the evening, no issues.

Not sure if it's a coincidence or not, but about 30 hours earlier I got a charge fault error. It had reached my 90% limit a few hours earlier, so when I saw this message at 3am (The next morning, day 4) I didn't think anything of it.

My friends 2020 Early build Explorer did the same thing. Something drained the battery FAST to where it tried to put itself into a deep sleep mode. He never had the issue again and at the next oil change they put a software on it.

So if I see a charge fault, I'm going to go out and start it and see if that keeps the battery from draining.

I have VIN 01952

Had you tried to do a software update on your own? Is that the same thing? Mine says all is updated when I manually check for updates.
