its been 6+ months since this was last talked about. is there any news into when BC 1.4 is coming to 2021-2024 models? Why announce something that is never released?

1.4 was not announced for the Mach E with this announcement. The OP specifically mentions the F150 and Navigators. As of right now, 1.3 is what is being released for these vehicles.

I assume that you probably have not followed the sad, sorry "Coming Soon (tm)" saga of what was/is BlueCruise 1.3? Suffice it to say, you would be smart to not hold your breath that BlueCruise will ever be OTA-updated again on any Mach E. That is not to say they would not, but after years of waiting for _any_ BC updates for many owners, we are pretty skeptical of more coming down the pipe for our vehicles.

The annual subscription fee of $500 is enough to keep such rolling out in the future at this level of driver assistance. If Ford offers level 3 of autonomous-which the CEO has hinted at-will such require more processing power ie hardware changes?

2025 Mach-Es have BC 1.5, so we'll have to see if the earlier models get an update to 1.5 as well.

looks like they are skipping 1.4 and going to 1.5. I realized that tech cars are as good as their software.

Never buy something with the promise of future functionality. If you’re not happy with the functionality the day you take it home then don’t buy it.

Tesla included. Ask HW3 and older owners how they feel about being left behind with FSD.

You can actually pay Tesla to upgrade the hardware

New technology + battery degradation are major reasons for EV depreciation and it is really not surprising when you think about it

As for BlueCruise, 1.5 is quite good. Most importantly, it has top tier hands on lane centering in the United States; that is lane centering outside of mapped zones

Caveat that it is not FSD, needs lane lines etc, will drop on the sharpest low speed turns but still better than Hyundai, BMW, GM, which are the among the top US usable systems, and in this regard it is probably #2 behind Tesla

It can drive 99% of something like the Taconic State Parkway in NY without maps or interventions, and part of it is mapped
