Are rear seats supposed to have ambient lighting too?

If you want lighting there are so many after-market lighting you can get and do that will do anything you want. That is a simple fix.

Yeah but they won't ever work seamlessly as factory, like what was shown in the early renderings of this car. I'm disappointed and this one comes off as especially cheap and penny pinching. Other things like a second motor for tilt seats or cooled front seats or heated back seats would have been a significant cost and extra weight so I understand why they weren't included. But this is something that is on the graphic in the center display, I don't see why this wasn't included in the final production version. Surely the door already has some sort of lighting aspect or electrical wiring that could be piggybacked upon.

However some wiring and LEDs shouldn't be too much to ask on an almost $60k vehicle. This one is a swing and a miss for me, it's a little thing that I was looking forward to. It's not a matter of wanting a car to have everything, just including what I already thought was a part of the car.

Well, I have yet found a vehicle that is perfect for everything I would like. But What is great in today's world a lot of things that are not in a car yet you can replace.

Little bummed by the ambient lighting thing. Really wanted to have them in the back as well. It makes for an overall consistent experience. Having said that, it would be easy to add more LEDs to the existing circuit as they draw little power. You will need to make sure you wire them up correctly. I've done some preliminary research with my Flex and will be adding door pocket LEDs once its off lease. I plan to build out a wiring harness to tap into the existing wiring so as to not splice into the existing wires and saving the warranty.

That seems to be the way to go, I was planning on doing the rear floor lights from parts used in the front since that would be easiest first. It's a slightly bigger deal since the renders (and current on screen display) showed the lights so we expected them, and sadly a minor bean counter savings that impacts customer satisfaction more than saves $.

And built into the system. I added them to my model 3 but it’s a manual switch and a 3rd party app. I was looking forward to it being built into the Mach-E. This may change my decision on the car. I know it sounds silly but with so many options on the market, we have choices.

Agree, going to rethink my decision. As I just sold my Model 3 today to preorder for my MME but now since I need to wait months for it, going to consider another option. Unfortunately Tesla doesn’t have any color ambient lighting.

If you don't mind my saying, that's seems a really odd thing to base your choice of cars on. What EV's have it? Or are you going to get an ICE in order to have mood lighting in the back seat? And what goes on in the back seat that needs mood lighting

Lol. I know crazy! I love my interior lighting. My annoyance will wear off but just bummed. I have two young daughters that also get a kick out of the lights changing colors. I decked out my Model 3 with a pretty cool interior lighting system that was still classy. Just seems a little cheap to show tons of renderings with the lighting in the rear and even have the Infotainment still show it for the rear. Doesn’t help I am in a bad mood today. But life can be worse! Pandemic, people losing their jobs, people without water and living out in the cold in Texas.....so I really have no reason to be in a bad mood!!

Yep wish it had it since they advertised it. That could be a class action suit if someone wanted to be really petty.

I do wish it had rear heated seats. My kids are always chilly and we know e heat takes up more juice than heated seats. My CX5 has rear heat seats and lighted footwells in back and cooled front seats and was about 38K.

Even the ambient light settings appear to show rear lighting. Not having it doesn't personally bother me.

I noticed that the frunk light wont turn on when opened but need to check all switches and settings.

It is weird to not have it in the rear. All the Ford vehicles with ambient lighting have had it in the rear seats.
