Have just gone to the preorder configuration page on the UK's Ford website and the RRP (indicitive) price for extended range RWD model has changed. It was £50,190. It is now £49,900. Wonderful for numerous reasons but more importantly we would, if it stayed at that price, qualify for the UK PICG ( £3,000) tax credit now as it falls below the £50,000 limit. Looking at the specs, cant see any changes on that front. Well done Ford.

That's great news. Has there been a price drop across the board on all trims / configurations? Or just for the extended range RWD model?

It looks to me as if it is just the ER RWD. I presume that it is probably one of the best preordered versions in the UK and the price drop is possibly to get it under the £50000 price so it qualifies for our PICG (tax credit). As the government have abolished the "luxury" car tax (£320 pa) for ALL bev's the SR RWD and SR AWD don't need to be adjusted as they still qualify for both. The ER AWD at £56,000 ish to to far away to be adjusted. That's my thinking anyway

Do any of the color choices put you over the 50K limit?

All of them except black. I'm a tighta..e, that's why I went for the black lol. Not strictly true. Not that keen on any of the other choices

Hmm, so either Ford screwed up or the optional color doesn't count toward the 50K cap - as in the "base msrp" is what matters? Otherwise there are going to be a lot of black Mach E's in the UK :)

When you spec one of the other colours it puts the RRP up to above the £50000. I believe this is what the grant is based on. So, yes you are correct, there is going to an awful lot of Black MME's in the UK

I'm pretty sure the £50k PICG threshold applies to RRP before any options are added. Tesla M3 LR qualifies no matter what options you add, any of which would take the RRP over £50k.

The color surcharges are completely different than the US ones. That's odd. Some are even reversed (like Infinite Blue being cheaper than Star White and Carbonized Gray). Wonder why?

I'm not in UK and am ignorant of the rules. However, the difference between base and option is somewhat blurry. If the rules is indeed what you described, it either has loop holes, or is very specific in terms of what is considered options. Put another way, why is color and FSD (in model 3) considered an option, but LR (in model 3) or ER or AWD (in Mach E) not considered an option?

I agree the difference between base and option is blurred, and HMRC haven't updated their guidance since the £50k threshold was introduced last month. However, I'm confident Tesla have done their homework, so a model change from SR to LR is considered a change in base price, whereas the likes of paint/wheel choices are considered options.

Either way, we now have a MME ER thst qualifies for the incentive, so i for one will be more inclined to follow through with my order. ?

My sentiments exactly. Given the current situation and the limit of £50000 for the grant it was only the monthly payment forecast that I got from the website that was stopping me from cancelling. I'm glad I waited as if the price doesn't go up again I have just had the best news I could have for a while. Order still in the system ??

I wanted in black but my partner is not having it ?

I particularly like the wheel arches matching the body.
