Well, in that case, yeah several people have reported that the cars come from the factory with the air vents closed.

No the vents are physically closed with the little dial on the vents themselves.

there are individual thumbwheels to close off each of the four panel vents. The center ones may be especially easy to miss

good question. If you turn the climate system off, I'm not sure whether it keeps the HVAC inlet door in fresh air mode or flips it to recirc. if it stays in fresh air, you would be getting some ram air through the cowl

OOH! I know some of this at least! If you hit the defrost/snowflake button just to the right of the volume knob you get manual control of heat/ac/neither, recirc/fresh, vent/legs/both, and some nifty graphics.

EDIT(There have been a few, but now I think the above makes sense):: ALSO - Is there already -OR- should we make a visual guide like below for a bunch of the less obvious controls? Once you find them, for the most part, they're pretty easy to remember and make some amount of sense.

There is. It takes a while to find it. I'll go down and play with it to post a pic. Works well, but the setting is counterintuitive.
