Using Waze on Apple Car Play on MME

Just curious how did you get the calendar to also display on that screen? Mine only shows music and the next direction. The only difference is that I use spotify for my music. I really like that calendar displayed.

Calendar should display when you have an upcoming appointment/event scheduled (for that day).

As other's have already shown - Waze should show the typical Carplay display with all info when you have Waze open in "full-view", BUT there does seem to be some bugs with Waze starting up in Carplay. I experience this on my i3 and my Mach-E on occasion. Waze will start and show the map, but I won't be able to interact with it to input destinations/see route info/etc. Opening Waze on my iPhone and force closing it will cause it to immediately reopen and work as it normally does in Carplay. This bug just started for me a few weeks ago, so I believe it's an issue as a whole with Waze/Carplay and not specific to the Mach-E.

EDIT: It just so happens the Waze bug caught me this AM when I left for work....

Here's Waze full-screen with the bug, only get the Speed on top right. Tapping doesn't give any way to interact to input destinations/etc....

And after opening Waze on my iPhone and then force-closing (swiping up from the App switcher), it'll automatically re-open and start back up on Carplay, and voila! I can interact with it again!

To be totally truthful, I have no idea. Not a conscious effort on my part. I think perhaps because an event was coming up (ballgame in this case) CarPlay pushed it to the front. I’ll have to play around with it and see. I normally do not use that view.

I have that same issue, and it is intermittent. Today it worked like a charm. Yesterday I had to force quit it.

I've rented at least 10 different cars with Car Play. On each of them (last was a Dodge Ram pickup, but I usually get something like a generic full size sedan) ... Waze displayed on the dash the same as on my iPhone. Only on my wondrous Mach-E have I had the issue of the truncated Waze display.

The new available layout is new in iOS 14, which was released late last year. It's not related to the vehicle, it's part of the software version on the phone
Edit: I take that back, it was new in iOS 13 which was new in October of 2019, not last year

Yep. Here in Georgia (Metro Atlanta area) the taxpayers pay for construction of new lanes on the interstates. The that lane is designated a toll lane even though tax payers paid for it. The toll is so high that only the affluent or those that can write it off as business expense can use it. The other day I was going south on I-85. Bumper to bumper moving about 5-10 mph. That toll lane had only a smattering of cars all moving at around 70mph. Ticked me off. My tax money at work for the rich.

The express lanes in Georgia are paid for out of bonds that are obligated to the toll revenue. Neither general tax revenue nor gas taxes go towards the express lanes, just the tolls

Waze (Google) is notorious for not playing well with Apple iOS. It’s one of the glitchiest apps on my iPhone. Ymmv.

I really do love the Ford navigation app. Nice clean display. But what I like about Waze is the way I can instantly calculate drive times using either (1) "free" lanes and (2) toll lanes. I'm talking about the ultra notorious 91 toll lanes, which range in cost to me from about $4.50 to about $31.50. I need to make instantaneous decision: do I get into the extreme left lane to take the toll road or do I stay in the "free" lanes? Waze provides the choice between toll lanes vs free lanes. I keep it set at free lanes. I know that, absent congestion, my trip should average 60 MPH. Mile a minute. So if Waze projects my drive time at 90 minutes, rather than 60 minutes, then that's when I want to shell out $$ for the toll lanes.

In my experience with a number of rental cars, Waze worked just as well with their Apple Car Play (and I never rent a car which doesn't have Apple Car Play) as it does with the Apple Car Play on my Chevy Volt (brilliant vehicle, now discontinued).

But when my MME displays Waze on the MME version of Apple Car Play, I get a drastically truncated version. Doesn't even display basic information, like miles to destination and estimated time to destination (which is what I really need to make my decision).

This is actually my one and only complaint about my new MME. In the most important respects, the car has totally blown me away - exceeding what had already been high expectations.

There is no toll fee when the Mach E is registered using the special access account zero emission vehicle on 91 fast trak lanes.
