This is my own opinion after seeing and riding in each of these vehicles. Kinda like the Doug score but I added road trip as a factor. For frunk score, if no frunk 0 small storage 1 and bigger 2.

Let me know your own scores and what you think. I have enjoyed all the different BEV and Hope you all are enjoying the transformation from ICE to BEV.

Updated with Warranty
updated loan and lease.
updated braking.

Interesting how the Model 3 and Mach-E compare. There's people on here that seem to think we all hate Tesla vehicles hard stop but you clearly don't (you've said so elsewhere too of course - just seeing it in raw numbers is interesting).

Give props to what each one does well. No one BEV does everything the best.

Dead heat (Etron and the Y) and then (Mach E and the 3). Somewhat unexpected results.

I have a lot of hours in all of them but the Etron but still got it for a long time. Each has its points and weak spots. Etron gets hurt by range, Accel, fun factor, value, but it makes up in other places.

If you spec out a jaguar I-pace to equal two the rest. Your talking around 80,000. least value of them all.

Really you can see it comes down to what you value the most in the BEV you buy.

I think there is a need to score 3 more areas:
  • Availability of add-ons and accessories, whether OEM or after-market.
  • Nationwide sales. If a car is only sold in a handful of places, it should have lower score.
  • Availability of service centers. It's nice if there is one close to your home, but what if you have a breakdown or an accident in Palukaville, KS? Do you need to tow it hundreds of miles to be fixed? Obviously Ford and Chevy would win this one.

Then there is the "cool" factor. That factor will be ranked differently for almost each individual.
For me looks and the cool factor, is about right at the top of the list. Then range, then features/comfort. Cost factors in of course, but only after the above has been decided, and my compare gap on price is more as to "I can't begin to aford that" or it's irrelevant. A few thousand savings isn't even going to score anything with me if I can't get what I want in a car. The $7500 tax thing is just gravy.

Anyway, great comparison, and thanks for all your efforts on this.

aftermarket is aftermarket and could make your car fly or could catch it on fire. Has nothing to do with the car as it is new.
sales would be skewed as the e-Tron is selling very badly in the united states but ok in the euro market.

service centers you could kinda add but really that would only affect tesla and polestar 2 so that's more up to you.
As cost on the jaguar and etron will be trip of the ford for repairs. The cost to repair the air ride on the etron is about 10,000. Yes its nice but once it gets the miles on it wow it will break the bank.

Not talking about cost. Just availability. I once drove a Chrysler from Ft Lauderdale to Phoenix. Being a Chrysler, of course it had a breakdown at 3:00 PM on a Friday in Tallahassee. I was able to get it towed to a local dealer and had them start working on it. I was back on the road by 8:00 PM. If this was a Tesla, I'd have to get it towed to Jacksonville, and be stuck there for a few days. The repair was covered by warranty, but hotels and my time have a cost too.

It has to do with fitness for purpose. A lot of heartbur was expressed on this forum about lack of a bike hitch for MME.

Not talking about how well a car sells. But where it sells. For example: Kona EV is only sold in CA, CO, CT, ME, MA, MD, NJ, NY, OR, RI, VT, & WA.

I wanted one for the longest time (Polestar 2) but not even having a date I could get a test drive in the Washington DC area was killing any enthusiasm I had. The Mach-E was more an impulsive "what else is out there?" rabbit hole since the Jag wasn't exciting at the price point and I hate Tesla with the passion of a 1000 burning suns.

Curious to the OP, why a 9 for VW ID.4 features over everyone else's 8? what pushed it up one number?

9 is not for id4 its for the Audi E-Tron.

Volvo XC40 recharge with no power button but they just plugged it instead of a new design. Kinda cheap looking and a negative mark for it.

Ford Mustang Mach-E TRU EV SCORE 1616951344651

The VW ID4 get hit for cheap marks. Old school hood rod to keep hood open. Bare metal hood some spots show where paint didnt match up underneath the hood. seats rail is exsposed no trim, arm rest are the worste of all the bev tested. Cheaper price means cost cut in places.
