I'm planning a trip to meet with friends in Pontiac Illinois along I-55 for lunch. Right off I-55 at the Pontiac exit there is a non-network charge point called Wally's which has a 50 KW CCS charger. I'm a newbie when it comes to charging (or anything for that matter as I've never had a BEV) and I remember people on this board saying to look for a 150 kw CCS DC charger. There isn't one available so how long will it take for the DC 50 KW CCS charger to bring my MME up to 80% SOC roughly? (Planner says I'll arrive at 67% SOC) I have to figure in time to charge and I want to do it before we meet them for lunch. A Better Route Planner says it is 74 miles one way so theoretically I should make the round trip on 100% charge from my house and back but this will take place in July (I hope if I get my car by then) so I know we'll be using the A/C and we also will be driving around 70 MPH.
Can you tell I have range anxiety already! ?
