Interesting. They list the GT range and acceleration for the GT with the optional Performance package (otherwise, it should be 250 miles in range with under 4 sec. accel.).

It's not clear to me if June 22-24 will be the window of opportunity to change from Premium to GT (or vice-versa). As with @eager2own, I'm really interested in spending an even more obscene amount of money on this car but need more info on the GT.

From the draft I've seen of the new Ford Options guide the mileage options should line up with what is available on a traditional Ford lease 7,500 to 19,500 per year. You could also buy more miles upfront if you wanted to.

The UK preorder site give Ford options estimate already. 24/36/48 months, mileage 6000/9000/12000. ER RWD @ £49980 with £17000 deposit 48 months, 9000 miles gives residual price of £20000.

Also, are they going to increase the milage per year? An EV does not age the way an ICE does, and it shouldn't be limited to the low per year milage of an ICE.

That's mostly FUD. The real world experience doesn't show it. For example, a Tesla S that over the course of 1 million km (621,000 miles), it had 2 battery packs and 3 drive unit replacements, and plenty of model 3s have had rust issues, etc... Many ICE vehicles have the body wear out from rush before the engine, etc, plus plenty of ICE vehicles in moderate climates look like new after several decades and hundreds of thousands of miles.

That's disappointing. (Not that it's a deal breaker, and can't say I need to ever go over 90, but it is nice to have the option to go 150 or more...)

You misunderstood his meaning: he meant instead of a 12k mile/year lease for X dollars, the lease should have 20k mile/year for the same X dollars because the electric powertrain will last longer.

My guess is there are 2 factors: the additional weight of the battery, and the SR battery is already feeding the single rear motor just about all it can take. That is, the second battery is intended to feed the second motor in an AWD ER configuration, thus improving acceleration.

Recent Ford dealer documents state that beginning “early July” product training for the Mustang Mach E will begin. Typically this involves a specialist with a production model vehicle at each dealership showcasing a full educative walk around of the car. This was originally scheduled for last month but due to circumstances, the Mustang Mach-E’s status was placed on hold. Beginning sometime in the next week, dealers will receive the opportunity to schedule their required training. Product Trainers will be available beginning June 18th for “Product related questions”.

That's one of the things that really confused me from that as well. Not sure if that meant that's what they normally do, but can't now because they're many months away from production units being made yet? Let alone get to dealers for training or demo? At least that's the impression I had from everything else, that production units don't even start rolling off the line until like around October or something.

Selective reading. If you read the next paragraph of the article you will see that it it says that for the first time Ford are to carry out product training remotely by webcast. So there wont be any cars at dealers in July, you wont be able to sit in it. The article further says that they are doing the trading this way so they can minimize any further delays.

J'etais au téléphone avec mon revendeur il y a 10 minutes, il m'a confirmé un numéro de contrat pour une mise en production de ma FE que Ford France à émis. Il m'a confirmé aussi qu'un bon de commande serait créé avant fin juin et sûrement un essai en même temps. En ce qui concerne la livraison il n'a pas été trop pessimiste étant donné que c'est une FE et m'a fait sous entendre une possible livraison avant avant Noël (informations Ford France a vérifier). Pas que de mauvaise nouvelle c'est déjà ça, malgré tout encore sept mois minimum de patience.

En Suisse, FE ou autre, même chose, rien avant 2021... en espérant que ce soit janvier

That's not what I got, based on what he said here and in previous threads. As I understand it the normal procedure would have been for a finite number of trainers to take a finite number of cars "on the road" for onsite training at the dealerships. The trainer and car would be at a given dealership for a short period of time for the purpose of dealership employees to sit in the car, learn about it, etc and then the car and trainer would move on to the next dealer. Neither the cars nor the sessions would be open to the public. Because of the situation, they are not even doing this kind of road training - instead it will all be online and not even the dealers will touch the car.

I was fine buying the car sight unseen, but dealers and service departments not even touching the vehicle is very disconcerting.

I know Ford is rushing to get cars out in 2020 for Wall Street reasons, but I need them to slow the heck down so they don't screw the pooch. I want a fantastic, we'll put together, well supported car. That's the whole dang reason I'm going Ford instead of "the other guy".

I now have reason to pause. Take note Ford!
