I checked mine... The front windows have a >PVB< designation (I assume this indicates the polyvinyl butyral acoustic inner layer), while the rear windows do not. And if you roll down the front windows, you should see the laminations.

Excellent, thanks. There was a thread about this on a Mercedes forum for my wife's car, and the windows actually say "Acoustic" on them. (It was kind of a mess there, as some had it and some didn't.)
Good to know ours apparently just has a code for it. Thanks for the info.

I believe PVB destination is for a resin for safety glass. Not acoustic.

PVB is Polyvinyl butyral, which is a resin. It holds the layers of glass together, making it a safety glass instead of flying shards of death.

But wait! There’s more! It seems that acoustic car glass is laminated glass held together by … wait for it … a type of …. wait for it … PVB!

There is standard PVB for laminated glass and Acoustic PVB for "yes "acoustic glass. In order for it to be acoustic glass in Must have a Acoustic signature on the glass when Manufacturer. Just ask MB For there inadvertent mistake.

First photo is windshield in lower left shows IRR. Second photo is of panoramic roof, No markings. I started this yesterday wondering why my pano roof is hotter then the windshield at the same sun angle. 10 degrees hotter.

The roof is low-e or low emmisivity glass. Made with a thin layer that reflects heat. Keeps car cool when sun is out and keeps heat in when cold out.

Great. Please provide a link to that standard. Otherwise, Peter is just crying wolf again.
