I'm at the end of my options on troubleshooting and thought I'd look here for some advice. Here's the breakdown:
Running theories:
- Had reputable electrician install the 240V electric panel and the ClipperCreek charging station.
- Local electric company connected to the box from the transformer nearby. Power was confirmed
- When connecting the charger to the car the LED panel is solid blue, but the car reports not charging
- Verified no scheduled charging is programmed (Set to charge when plugged in)
- Left ClipperCreek plugged in overnight and found red fault on car next morning
- Car will take a charge with 120V connection with included portable charger
- Car charges at all other Level 2 charging stations (including a couple that had the same ClipperCreek charger)
- Other cars (Tesla, Chevy Bolt) charged fine with installed charger (however, Tesla reported the charge was 234 not 240)
- Electrician ordered new charger and installed with the same result.
- Electrician changed wiring to have 240V outlet. Attempt to use portable with outlet had the same result (solid blue LED)
- Local electric company came out to test load and passed
- Contacted dealer and was told they were booked for the next 6 weeks and wouldn't offer support
Running theories:
- The transformer is overloaded and can't send required level of amperage for the car to charge (based on the Tesla reporting 234).
- The car location setting has a bug that expects the 120V charge (that was how I was charging while waiting for the installation). However, I have deleted all locations in the app and tried to setup new.
