VW I think they are doing good things but are more meh in going electric. ID4 feels more like they are responding to diesel gate and trying. Ford on the other had goes big.
Mustang and F150 are huge names that ford is yet again showing they are serious about going Electric.
The VAG group, the company that owns VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat, Porsche ++) is WAY ahead of Ford.
The US EV market is underdeveloped so they may not have not priority there yet.
VAG have eUP, Id.3, Id.4, Id.6, Citigo-e, Enyaq, e-Tron, Etron GT, Taychan, Taychan Grand Turisimo, Cupra Born, eCrafter, Scania BEV. And more in the pipeline with the Id.Buzz, Q4 e-Tron ++
The volume of BEV they sell are staggering high compared to Ford.
Also, i Europe, Ford will use the VAG MEB BEV platform for their next EV's

My experience with all versions of Sync from one through 4A, I've never seen a direct upgrade path. I don't see it happening here, either. There are a lot of pros and cons with Android, IMHO, but I understand that it is a global OS standard that has a lot of potential integrations. I'm leaning a little toward the suspicious side given the open standards of the platform and what I view is more vulnerability versus a closed ecosystem.
I think you're right.

I remember blackberry's attempts to mix andriod with their software. In the end they couldn't make it work to a satisfactory level and had to ditch eol their operating system and thus the hardware and then go to generic andriod on a new phone platform.

If is not changing to Android until 2023,24, than I am good.

I recently drove the 2021 Mach-E on thursday and was impressed with it.

Also concerned about Alexa. It is the privacy issues I have:

I do not have any Google or Alexa devices in my home at all.

I don't have nor do I trust Alexa or any of the other surveillance devices either. This story might be on the verge of TMI, but on Saturday morning my wife was getting ready in the bathroom with her iphone on the counter. I commented on how she needed new underwear because what she was wearing had holes in it. She texted me from work 2 hours later to say she got an ad for 20% off underwear (I don't remember where). That kind of thing has happened enough times that it can't be a coincidence.

I owned over 9 different Mustang's ( new ) since having my drivers license. Just feeling disappointed that Ford would think Android system operating acceptable.
Take a look at Polestar and Volvo XC40 EVs. They use Android and it gets very good reviews.

I still haven’t seen a Mach-E in the wild. Have seen about 50 bronco sports though, I live in SC but the gas bronco definitely seems to be the more popular
I live in Chicago and hadn’t seen a Mach E in the wild until two weekends ago while walking down the street. Then I saw one while driving two days later. They’re on their way.

OK two things. One, of course the underwear has holes. Otherwise it's too hard for her to put on or for you to slip off.

Two, doesn't everyone get ads for underwear all the time?

?

No way! On an iPhone? Made by Apple? The most privacy conscious company in the world?!? Impossible! It is clearly Amazon and Google that you need to watch out for. Just ask several forum members. They'll be happy to tell you. ;) ?
