And pretty soon you're only going to get half a steering wheel....
Maybe they'll wean the consumer slowly and give 2/3 of a steering wheel to start?

Well, they are putting in a PC gaming level computer in the infotainment system of X and S. But that seems to me it would lead to a very sore neck with the display on the side.

I much prefer the horizonal (landscape) screen. Fonts are mentioned by some drivers -- I'm in my 70s and have zero issue with them -- if you press the satellite view the screen goes to color. Which I almost never do. But the real UI issues on the Mach for me are the volume wheel, the "transmission" wheel and the cluttered steering wheel. None of that stuff should be there. I imagine it will get cleaned up down the road. But with the Tesla you can control just about everything with the two, simple, scroll buttons + voice command. Again, that's just me.
OMG... - when I was testing Model Y to give it a chance to change my MME preference, I thought that the two scroll buttons to control the screen was the worst thing ever!!! It was not intuitive at all - whoever came up with that design should be sent to Siberia. Seriously, it drove me nuts within 5 minutes and never recovered. I think the voice command in Tesla probably compensates for that, but man oh man - that two buttons interface is something - thank you very much... - not!

For most things, on the Tesla, you use the two wheel-buttons on the steering wheel and your voice. While driving, of course. Guarantee the Mach E will move in that direction as well. Simplicity.
Hopefully not - it's not simplicity - it's a complexity and guessing using those two buttons. You call it intuitive, I call it - misleading. But sure - to each their own.

These last few posts with things Tesla is deleting and raising prices makes me think that they are pushing hard to become profitable.
Heh, Knight Rider wheel.
Skip to 3:15 for the lowdown. Tesla should have watched this review first.

They already are. The Y has a 27% gross profit margin, which is why the Y deliveries currently are a higher priority over the 3.

If it is Wednesday, it must be time to bash the self-appointed Technoking, LOL. He just makes it so easy!

For example, from today's Wall Street Journal article, where the Technoking is found to have committed fraud by the SEC, in 2018.

Not commonly known, because the WSJ had to file a Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) motion to find this out.

And when you pay a personal $20 million dollar fine, plus another $20 million dollars from Tesla, you know you did something wrong. Like fraud.

Tesla Failed to Oversee Elon Musk’s Tweets, SEC Argued in Letters
SEC said Musk flouted court-ordered policy in 2019 and 2020, records show

Tesla CEO Elon Musk publicly mocked the SEC even after settling fraud claims with the agency.
Updated June 1, 2021 8:10 pm ET

WASHINGTON—Securities regulators told Tesla Inc. TSLA -3.70% last year that Chief Executive Elon Musk’s use of Twitter had twice violated a court-ordered policy requiring his tweets to be preapproved by company lawyers, according to records obtained by The Wall Street Journal.

Tesla and the Securities and Exchange Commission settled an enforcement action in 2018 alleging that Mr. Musk had committed fraud by tweeting about a potential buyout of his company. Mr. Musk paid $20 million to settle that case—Tesla also paid $20 million—and agreed to have his public statements on social media overseen by Tesla lawyers.

Tesla, Mr. Musk, and the SEC didn’t respond to requests for comment. The Journal obtained the records under a federal Freedom of Information Act request.

Mr. Musk’s skirmish with the SEC is part of a pattern by him and Tesla of sidestepping rules or averting enforcement attempts, the Journal reported in April. Tesla has also clashed with the National Transportation Safety Board and state Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials in Nevada. Another company run by Mr. Musk, SpaceX, has also had a sometimes contentious relationship with the Federal Aviation Administration.

I test drove a Model 3 a year or so a year back and it was okay. The dash sat way too low for my liking and I hated how EVERYTHING is controlled through that screen. I also disliked how stupidly complicated it is just to change the position of the steering wheel.

Also, for the price, you really don't get much, I mean a lot of those features are in my $30k Camry Hybrid. For being billed as a "luxury" car, you sure don't get any luxury amenities.

Also, the biggest thing far and away that would keep me from buying one is the subpar quality and Elon Musk. He is far and away the biggest hindrance of Tesla being taken seriously as an automaker. He needs to step aside as CEO and let a seasoned auto CEO take the reigns. Also getting rid of their PR department is an absolutely HUGE misstep, and not putting any vehicles into nationwide press fleets.

And with the Model Y you don't even get half of the stuff that you can get in the MME

Ouch, Consumer Reports used to have a love affair with Tesla, not anymore.

After posting that video showing how a Tesla will try to drive itself without a driver, to my July issue I just received, showing a CR survey.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Why the Mustang Mach E is better than the Tesla Model Y CR001

Looks like the love affair is over, LOL.
