Not sure this belongs here but I am out! Don't get me wrong. I love the idea of this car. I loved it when I test drove it. But reading too many negative stories here and also elsewhere. I will wait before I buy it. I do not want to and cannot afford to be a beta tester. I have cancelled my order which was placed back in April. I will buy this car one day down the line when kinks are worked out in the software and hardware. For now, gonna run the Fusion into the ground. Was really looking forward to owning this car. I wish you all the best and those still waiting, I hope you get yours soon. I will keep reading this forum and staying in touch with this community. Thank you all, I have learned a lot.

Enjoy. Things will only get better in time. Can’t argue with getting all the value out of the car you’ve already got.

Make sure to update your profile :)

My sister called me the other day to tell me her 2021 Audi ETron entertainment system died along with the HVAC controls. Trip to the dealer fixed it, odd right?

Good luck!

Updated the profile, thanks. Not saying other EVs don't have issues. Just don't wanna be a beta tester.
Beta tester is a bit much. For me, PaaK can be spotty, though it’s use is optional, though I still use it anyway because I love it. I have a weird bug appear in the radio where sometimes it temporarily changes my three rows of presets to two rows, though I can override this in settings instead of waiting for it to fix itself on the next start up. And the big one for me is the driver display buzzing noise.

But basically in all other respects, the vehicle has been absolutely fantastic.

How did you update the profile? I need to remove the C-max. Sold it a couple months ago.

Unfortunately, ever time a new part is designed and tested there a small risk of something going wrong. Therefore, the more new tooled parts, or even new uses, the higher the chances of something going wrong. Toyota trys to minimize new parts and use as many proven parts as possible to maximize quality and cost, but where are they with EVs?

Luckily most of the problems people seem to be having are software related that can be fixed OTAs and not a lot of bad mechanical parts. I expect Ford's next EV launches to go much smoother because of everything they are learning with the mach e so you are welcome to wait. However, I would expect much more substantial OTAs to start hitting over the next few months that will address the vast majority of software problems, or at least I'm hoping that's the case when my car arrives around September.
