Thanks very much for posting this video!
I have seen many posts and some videos that talk about taking the plastic panels off, but this is the first time that I've seen someone do the removal on video. This makes me feel much better about possibly doing it myself.

Great video. Good information to have until Ford figures out what's going on with the 12v battery.

Why couldn’t Ford run permanent jumper terminals through the plastic or in the same access panel as the Frunk motor? That seems silly to have to yank off all those panels to get to the 12v battery.

The permanent jumpers are bigger. It might have to do also with distance to the battery (thick cable) and maybe it has something to do with the possible future update of remote opening of the hood.

Just speculations though. Hopefully we never need to mess with it

Ben, I'm curious. can you open the frunk with the two wires and external power source even if the 12v battery is fine? It would seem a way for thieves to access the frunk

For me I was only able to simulate it with disconnected (low) batteries

that's good know, I would hope that ford would think about the possibility of a thief entering the frunk that way, so it sounds like it's not possible.

Are you still able to access the main cabin if the 12v is dead? Where would you keep a portable power pack if you’re not able to get in?

From what I understand the doors have a capacitor inside which allow you to open them a few times when the battery is dead.

Maybe you could try it out?

Somewhere outside of the vehicle... in your garage, somehow attached to the under-body of the vehicle, etc. :(

If you search here you may find several of the earlier discussions.

I believe others have tried back when people started taking deliveries at the beginning of this year. To the best of our knowledge, the capacitors that Darren Palmer described in a few videos did not make it into final production.

So I have car built in July, after the original 12v issues. I just got an alert that my 12v needed service yesterday - after sitting in my garage untouched for 6 days with 75% on the HVB. Am I making a huge mistake if I drive the car 2 hours away and leave it overnight in a parking garage for one night?
