Love Bug season has begun!! I think I pissed some of them off this morning while mowing the lawn but yeah they are NASTY and they love to destroy paint jobs! UGH!!! :mad:

I made the mistake 2 summers ago of not wanting to deal with the heat outside, for the first time ever didn't seal my paint and on top of that left bugs on there.

Permanent paint damage luckily isolated to the front facia and nowhere else but it freaking sucks.

I may have sounded the alarm a little too early! After 50 miles of driving on hwy 27 today I only hit one pair of love bugs! Lol
No, they're definitely out. Saw plenty of them today while beach side in the Patrick AFB area.

For someone not from florida who is driving there the first week of october- what is a lovebug, and how long does the season last?

They are little black bugs with orange dots and always paired up hence the name “ love bug “. We have two seasons in May and September. Hopefully they will be mostly gone by October! I wont be doing any more road trips until then!

A good wax/ceramic/sealant and good bug remover and you'll be fine. 3D Bug Remover works great.

oh, that's weird. I guess they exude some kind of acid that eats into the paint when they splatter?

Bug remover - why would anyone want to have to deal with that? Yuck!
Spray it on, dwell for 60 seconds, hose it off and it'll remove the majority of the bugs with any physical scrubbing.
