To me Ford have produced a machine to excite peoples inner 5 year old nothing more.
It matters to me for the reasons expressed in the couple of posts directly ahead of yours.

I don't want to get this (hopefully) incredible car and worry that it's going to be vandalized by some idiotic "purist" that chooses to act out his inner five year old.

I think you mean the Kia Imagine, not Image.

As I understand it, 800v is not quite ready at an affordable price point. It's probably two maybe three years away from being at nearly the same price point is where 350-400 volt technology is today.

There's nothing wrong with 400 volt technology and as Tesla and Audi have shown, the performance and recharging speeds can rival the best 800 volt system available.
From a charging perspective, isn't the only real advantage is that you transmit the same power level with lower current, mitigating heat without using massive wires?

The Lotus EV supposedly can DC fast charge at 800kW, not that there is any infrastructure available to do so!

If you can afford that Lotus, you can afford to put 800kW chargers at each of your homes. ?

That might be the main advantage for charging, but there can be other advantages for the drive train. The EV motors can be driven at a range of voltages, even if the battery is 400 volts or 800 volts. Many/most designs use a voltage booster to send higher voltage to the motors. So if you have a 350-400 volt system it can still supply 700 volts to the drive motor. So a 800 volt system has the potential for more than that.

This is why GM's introduction of an 800 volt system could let it compete well, even though people say they are "late."

Why would anyone vandalize it? have to be a right knuckle dragger to do that. If you want one then I am sure if throw enough coin at RTR they will happy to build one , doesn't matter what other people think :).

I was hoping for something that would be an actual show case for what can be done with mach-e and that includes the existing mach-e drivetrain when turned to 11, so see this a waste of that opportunity, does not mean it wont have its fans. I am a million miles away from the target audience for these types of builds.

Why are Teslas vandalized more than other cars?
I can totally see the Mach E being vandalized because it's not a "real" Mustang.

In addition to your point, you get people who slash Tesla tires, key Teslas and coal roll Priuses.

Add to the fact that this is one of the most expensive cars I'll probably purchase, and it's a bit worrisome to say the least.

Looks like it could go really fast on a NASCAR track. For about 30 laps anyway.

Those 45 minute pit stops might take it out of contention though. ?
Do you think EA will be in the pit?

Love that conclusion: "A minute or so later, the garage is filled with the noise of tortured rubber with dense clouds of tire smoke wafting toward the ceiling. Yeah, that's a Mustang. "
@ChasingCoral, was that you in that blue GT?

Without the seeing the actual statistical data it is hard to tell if the chance is any worse than any other expensive vehicle, however what we have with sentry mode and the fact that most tesla owners tend to be active social media users it that any incidents will get a lot coverage.

While nobody should have to come down in the morning and find vandalism due to the actions of a jealous minority :(. I think you'll be fine from real mustang owners, more likely to get the odd thumbs down about not purchasing a real mustang or put up with exuberant revving accompanied by an obnoxiously loud exhaust exhaust.

My main concern as always will be in car parks and others peoples careless inability to open car doors :(, naturally it all depends on opposing car door and the height but the mach-e has no door handles to help deflect the onslaught from the incompetent brigade.
