My 2-day FRDS license expired on Monday otherwise I would download it...

I’m on my last attempt. Been at this for hours.

I don’t think sharing the files will help as FDRS downloads a VIN specific security certificate that goes along with the files.

If this attempt fails for me I’m giving up.

it's very interesting to hear that. it both "protects" the content and acts as a buffer against a harried service tech accidentally flashing the wrong stuff to a vehicle and semi-bricking it. Of course, there's much simpler ways to do that, but "defense in depth" and all.

It just happened while parked at work. No WIFI Connection (like at home), just cellular. My hope is this is a prerequisite for Blue Cruise!

Well I’m 24 minutes into the update and no error so far!! External USB flashing a lot for 20 minutes and now stopped so just need patience until I’m asked to remove USB. Feeling hopeful. Been at this 5 and a half hours. ?

that's the notification capability I mentioned.

the question would be how many normal owners have set up FordPass and pay attention to the messages? the delivery checklist in theory includes walking the customer through the setup, so there's some hope people are at least logged in... but there were longstanding "ghost message" bugs, ad-adjacent messages, and the like that may have turned people off to paying attention to the messages. I don't have the information to know how that's falling out right now... which gets me back to the question of a good way to tell normal people...

I use almost none of the tech on this car but I setup fordpass within minutes of getting home. As I wanted the charge scheduling capability. It was dead easy

This file is something I had a feeling was going to be included. My suspicion is that having the file on the USB enables the update function. So if that file is bad or not there, it just does nothing.
