Of course, when I am out and about they started to update mine, but I got the car and must have interrupted it by starting the car (didn’t know it was happening)

im starting to wonder if they are doing updates mainly through cell towers because I don’t have great reception in my garage at home. And it was interesting that when I was out they finally started it.

Finally got it here. Sat and listen to a podcast over lunch at work in an area with very good ATT reception. Got the message right after lunch.

ATT's barely 3G at my home, WiFi's been flaky and not connecting.

If you aren't getting the update OTA, try parking for 20-30 minutes (even with the car remote started) in an area with better cell reception.

Got mine updated today by the local dealer, the only negative is I needed to do a master reset for it to work properly.

Just turned on the factory navigation for the first time since updating and noticed another new change.... Flashing bar on the instrument cluster directions actually has some use now... Now it's a progress bar that gets smaller the closer you get to the turn... It's still buggy and doesn't work quite right, but at least it has some functionality other than being distracting... I'll post a photo later

So then it doesn’t matter if you’re plugged in or not, it just happens. I checked mine in my garage just now and it said update failed. Good times.

I have not gotten the 1.7.1 update yet. I do have a subscription to FDRS to update modules. It is interesting to also see what extended PIDs are available in the various modules.

I noticed modules having serveral status PIDS for "Over The Air Programming Update - Preconditions not met". There are a number of them, like Alarm Actively Sounding, Brake Pedal Pressed, Door Ajar, Hazards On, Vehicle Speed Too High, etc....,

The GWM (Gateway Module) has four sets of PIDs that appear to keep track of update events. There is Correlation ID, Error Status, High Level Status, Number of Files Downloaded From Cloud, Number of Files Transferred to Targets, Roll Out ID, Source, and Total Number of Files.

All four sets in my car had a High Level Status of "Completed" and source of "OTA". The other PIDs were zeros or blank. So I did not seem to have an update-in-process.

Mine updated, too. And you’re right. I’ve been complaining to @Ford Motor Company about this issue for over 6mos now. You would think of all the bugs, this would be an easy fix. You would think.

Just received 1.7.1 update - have to see if the features work. Cant seem to see where to set remote setup preferences in Ford account - ford pass is not updated yet may be that needs to happen.

I believe you would have to delete your profile and redo the profile setup. I don't think there is any way to edit it once it's done.

After the update it started popping up for me to complete my profile, and I hit the button and it just says it's already done and a link to master reset instructions.

Interesting… I assume you mean profile in the car for the driver?

Yeah, that's the one you originally created in the app and then it downloads it to the car.

I haven't deleted my profile to try it, so it could actually just not be a part of the app yet.

The morning I got 1.7.1 I got this notification:

It just takes me back to the vehicle tab, but there is a remote setup button now.

If I click that, it just says this:

Video as promised. The blue bar is still buggy.. the progress will go up and down somewhat randomly. But at least it's somewhat functional now.

... And the blue bar doesn't show at all on directions from Android Auto like it did before
